I wonder if somewhere out there is some fan base looking at Dorito's defense, and saying "well that was a sinking ship there, he's a great DC".....
Ok, you're right. Diaz is horrible...we're ****ed. Happy? If we all agree to put that in our sigs will you go away? Are we meeting at the Hecht tomorrow with pitchforks? What's your plan dude, because it's clear you won't stfu until your strange and obsessive agenda is finally met. Just tell us what it is so we can be done.
B/C the way this school operates it takes a full 2 years of *****ing to get a guy fired. So I'm starting the movement now so that if we look like *** on D next season, which I fear we will, then the heat is already on. I cannot stomach another three seasons of a ******* mediocre to bad defense. If Diaz delivers a typical Diaz defense here, I don't want us to be sitting and going "he needs more time to de-Goldenize guysm!" when he has a poor track record.
This was a bad hire. If it looks bad after year one, it is in our interest to get this guy out, and that will only happen if it's known that this wasn't an acceptable hire for us right now. Taking a massive risk on a guy who got run out of Texas when you have had program-worst defenses recently is
retarded.
Do really think you are in a position to criticize, with any credability, HC Richt's staff hires at this point in time?
Do you offer that you are better suited, or on par with, HC Richt to know what is best short/mid/long term for the Hurricane program?
If I understand your argument correctly, HC Richt has made a poor DC hire? One that could set back or doom his tenure?
I would have hired:
Butch Davis as DC/assist HC
Leavitt as DC
The Chimp Schiano as DC/assist HC
Randy ****ing Shannon as DC
Brown from BC
before Diaz.
All great and proven names for sure...I would offer...
- Davis appears unlikely to take anything but HC position (perhaps due to TV providing other income/employmemt?)
- Leavitt might be a touch radioactive for a spell considering his last tenure at a program
- Schiano could have been a hire, but chose OSU instead or was never asked
- Shannon would probably make a great hire, if not akward for his return based on how he left and what happened again afterwards
- Brown from DC could have been a hire, but Richt went in a different direction
- Anyone but Diaz...who was employed, until he [Diaz] left MSU for UM...and his now former boss was pusued not once, but twice by UM during coaching searches (at least as reported)
Fair enough, only way to settle the debate is what is seen on the field over the next 3 seasons. Again, I say 3 seasons because I'm not certain we have a single player on the current roster [defense] that is a lock to start on any "elite" team from this past season.
Inwant to believe in an immediate turn around, but does the squad really, truly, have the talent to make that happen during next year's campaign? I'm not (yet) convinced that Jimmy Johnson in his prime could pull that off...
I hope I'm wrong, but my head says...
