No actually I wasn't. Anytime legitimate Fact or relevant stats were brought into question he didn't seem to have a response. His problem is that he chooses to state the statistics that benefit his argument and then ignores the more important ones that oppose it and loses all credibility.

honestly it just comes down to the *****ing and moaning on the board. We can't change who the DC is. Were we asking for manny diaz? No. However, it is what it is. We don't need an internet tough guy sabotaging every thread for the last two days just because he hates our new DC. There are 120 other programs to follow. Is it okay to question Diaz? yes I'm not personally a big fan, but spewing **** and holding on to pointless stats that were not indicative of his tenure are pointless and repetitive

this^. I got nothing against the guy but he's flooding the board with crap the last two days. and my point Miami82 was that the thread I linked explicitly shows stats that he could not refute. If you feel that he "owned" me in the other thread then so be it, doesn't really bother me. diaz is a solid dc. sorry he is. fullyericht is wrong. his d is in top 40 in scoring everywhere he goes. usually top 25. scoring d is more improtant then yds. i wish donofrio had understood that. diaz is a good dc. when he has talent to work with his d can be elite. thats a fact

texas problems weren't all on him. there were other issues there he has been very good at msu. yes his yds aren't great but when u put together redzone td pct, pts, tfl's and turnovers they are all extermly good and msu doesn't get the athletes miami does.

look aranda would of been a great hire he went elsewhere. i for one like bo pelini but understand his personality and richt probably wouldnt' of worked well together, diaz is a good hire.

Not sure if you paid attention, but in the beginning when we were getting lit up for 500-600 yards per game, that's all Golden and NoD said was yards don't matter, because our scoring allowed wasn't ridiculously bad. Then they changed their tunes in the later years pointing to yards ranking when we were getting lit up on the scoreboard.

Fine line between devotion and zealotry....guys become an anti-Diaz zealot and it's making every thread un****ingreadable. He needs a timeout.

I wasn't referring to fullyericht, only responding to the post I quoted, because saying something is as simple as opponent ppg is all that matters is a bit narrowminded.

In Golden's final years here, he hoped to keep points and yards down with a bit of a slow pace offense to mask his crappy defensive gameplan, but ultimately, even if our opponent scoring and/or yards were highly ranked, we would also need to look at the effect on our offense. In the end, if the opponent only scores 15-20 ppg, but our slowdown offense means we score less, then we still failed.

The point I'm getting at is high ranks don't necessarily mean our defense was good.

B/C the way this school operates it takes a full 2 years of *****ing to get a guy fired. So I'm starting the movement now so that if we look like *** on D next season, which I fear we will, then the heat is already on. I cannot stomach another three seasons of a ******* mediocre to bad defense. If Diaz delivers a typical Diaz defense here, I don't want us to be sitting and going "he needs more time to de-Goldenize guysm!" when he has a poor track record.

This was a bad hire. If it looks bad after year one, it is in our interest to get this guy out, and that will only happen if it's known that this wasn't an acceptable hire for us right now. Taking a massive risk on a guy who got run out of Texas when you have had program-worst defenses recently is retarded.

News flash: Defensive coordinator has bad stats with untalented team. If you follow the link to the Texas site fullyericht posted, I believe the third post down states, "if we had fired Diaz at the beginning of the season we would have been undefeated." Uh huh. I'm sure Diaz was the primary reason Texas sucked. Not exactly the most objective fan base to get an opinion on Diaz.

Do really think you are in a position to criticize, with any credability, HC Richt's staff hires at this point in time?

Do you offer that you are better suited, or on par with, HC Richt to know what is best short/mid/long term for the Hurricane program?
