Some thoughts on Week 4 college football....

ACC teams have to win 5 games to get ranked. SEC teams have to lose 5 to get unranked. Yall see how narratives are. They ranked the teams, not knowing how good they are but telling u before games that one schedule is hard and one is easy. In the BCS era and much of the 4 team playoffs, The SEC teams stacked multiple layer of depth on their rosters. They were better than other conferences in depth and top end talent. Since the portal, its simply not true. There are good teams at the top, but their margin of error have drastically shrunk. Hence, Miami dog walk UF, UF best Texas.

Yet they are still living of decades of built up narratives, even with not even a team in the title game for 3 years.

Big, Big 12 and ACC have all had a team in the title game in those years

I have no idea how you define playoff caliber, but "a guy who can run the offense" is what I would call Julian Sayin last year and he seemed playoff caliber. Carson Beck threw for a whopping 185 yards per game across four games in the playoffs last season...is that playoff caliber?

But here’s the kicker in that, both Beck and Sayin are wildly more talented than that Philo kid. End of story.

I'll be honest, you've lost me. I have no idea what that sentence has to do with whether or not Florida can make the playoffs. He's playing well, he's not making mistakes, he's a great fit for the system and he can run a bit. He's plenty talented enough to win games against Top 10 opponents.
 
- Lincoln Riley has a decade of evidence showing no ability to have a playoff caliber defense. At OU and USC same story. Their next coach will come in and take this #1 class Lincoln bought them and win more. I do think USC may actually have won though had Moore not got hurt.

- UF has been dominant Running, have a great OC, and have a lot of defensive Talent. Their main weakness is Pass Defense and if Philo could shoulder the load in moments. But if teams have to overload to stop the run, Philo has multiple very good weapons to make him look good. VB3 is looking very good, Wilson is a ideal X WR mold, and they haven’t even played Singleton yet. They’re a team that can Run and Stop the run and has excellent WRs. And at least what seems like a fine game managing QB. That can get you far.

- Texas has been underwhelming, but has still biggest win of season, and another good win at UTenn. They simply have an overwhelming talent advantage throughout their roster for the most part. If Arch actually plays consistent over an entire game they would probably be viewed as the clear top team. But as of now he’s been bad except for spurts.

- UGA has been dominant overall. Imo they should be the clear favorite to win the SEC. They have Texas/Sarks number and H2H will beat them imo. Will be dominant against run and also running like UF. Stockton isn’t some elite passer but doesn’t make many mistakes. Classic UGA qb.

- Notre Dame is elite Back 7, can’t run, has maybe slightly better WRs than last yr, their QB is good. And I’d assume by our game and playoffs will be viewed as having a top OL. Only really curious about their DLine.

Right now Buster for first month of season will win the Broyles award the way he is sequencing stuff up, they always had the skill guys but the way the oline is running and blocking when they were supposed to be question mark, makes it difficult to hate watch.. Atleast he will get HC gigs lined up and be outta gainesvill asap.. Their run game of outside zone then the sequencing behind it wit boot, and the counter on top of that.. fuuuuuccccckk

Forgot to add, ND defense has been playing at an elite level.. Not just coverage but also just wrecking havoc with sacks and turnovers.. They havent played anybody we know but still..
