Some thoughts on spring ball/practice...

hey brother. I don't think what a player does after playing at Miami should be considered for being an all time Miami great. And to be fair, UM WR unit before 1983 wasn't impressive.
Brown is a big part of why it became impressive in 1983.

I turn 47 tomorrow, so I was only 4 & 5 years old when Eddie Brown was at Miami. My point being I was too young to watch him play at Miami.

According to this list, he's 14th on the all time list of total receiving yards at Miami. 1 yard ahead of Clive Walford.

But one of the 4 best WR's ever at Miami?
If we're just going off #s then X is the best ever by a lot and Mike Harley is in the conversation as well. It's obviously not that simple.

touchy touchy. haven't gotten it up the *** in a few weeks, i guess.

I put his NFL numbers in there for context. Brown left as the all time leader in receptions, yards and TD’s in 1985 when CFB was mostly a running game. You obviously aren’t going to back down and that’s your prerogative. Bill Miller was a 2 time All American WR in 1960 and ‘61. Does his accomplishment mean less because he played in the ‘60’s.

It’s a discussion.

Toney aint there yet....good list but Toney has 1 year. Eddie Brown was b4 my time, so i can't comment on him. The list is spot on with the other 3, i'll add Yatil Green just based off what happened at UM.
Yatil had so much potential. It was a terrible ending to his career. Well. The career that never got going.

lol. eddie brown > toney and its a no contest at this point. Toney needs to prove himself in the league first. If you cant do it in big boy football you aint **** plain and simple.

x man has all the miami wr records. so what. There are atleast 10 guys I'd take over him espescilly if they played in this day and age. same with toney.

McCoy will NOT be our starting RT by mid-season. I hope someone can step up and take that spot, maybe Wilkerson or transfer from Georgia

Not trying to argue and/or sound like a ****, but looking at and comparing #s is a pretty good place to start.

Harley is 8th in receiving yards, with 15 total receiving touchdowns. So, now he's the best ever, and by alot?

It's just my opinion that there are are least 4 better WR's at Miami better than Eddie Brown, and no disrespect to EB. We can disagree though, all good. That's what message boards are for!

Eddie compiled those stats in two seasons. Also, aside from Irvin, all the others in front of him are from the new era. If you’re curious, dig a little deeper and look at the individual seasons.
I can see he only played 2 seasons from the link I posted earlier.

Not trying to argue, and it's only my humble opinion, but if someone is going to claim he's one of the best 4 WRs in the program's history, yes an individual season matters, but so does an entire career. I happen to think that there are at least 4 WRs with better careers. That's all.

What does the NFL have to do with a playing career at Miami? Answer: nothing. And what 10 guys you taking over Toney?
