Through the first 2 games, App State is 5-26 on third downs... That is horrendous.
Miami has allowed 8-36 third down conversions on the season...
Miami has only allowed 69 yards rushing through both games, including a large run at the end of the FAU game (Which a paltry 1.4 yards/attempt was gained).

VT went 6-13 against UT on third downs, more than App State has converted the whole season.

Verdict: Miami was built to destroy this overhyped cream puff. Why are people doubting miami here? They live on the rush game, IIRC Miami has the top rushing defense in the country (Could be wrong but it's around there). I don't even expect this game to be close

I keep hearing how App Store dominated UT, and that UT got lucky to sneak out with a win. I didn't remember it that way, and I looked up the numbers.

UT had more yards and 1st downs. App gained under 300 yards on the game. App had the benefit of a 2-1 turnover margin too including a muffed punt deep in UT's territory.

Where did you hear that App dominated TN ? It was an evenly played game which surprised many who thought TN would dominate.

Stats were about as even steven as it gets App 292 yds TN 319 yds

Greats stats! VT also had 5 to's (if not more after I stopped watching) which is what made the game with Tenn a blowout. I think Tenn is very questionable right now in terms of how good they are, so I don't necessarily give Ap St. a ton of credit for taking them to OT.

Regardless, I think our D dominates their O significantly more than their D will be able to contain our O. The only thing that worries me is I think we have a razor thin margin for error, couple TO's and an injury to a LB and...

UT played terribly against App State. App State played terrible as well. They were opportunistic early, but then their luck ran out. They had ONE drive over 40 yards that results in points. The other was 36 yards set up by a muffed punt. And that was their points..... They couldn't sustain drives, other than the one for 77 yards. I just don't see how they will do better against us.

Here is a stat to keep in mind:

Recruiting class rankings last 5 years (average)

Miami 17th

App store 113th

They gave up 157 yards rushing to old dominion last week.

Walton and yearby are gonna pad some stats this weekend

Appy scored 2 touchdowns against UT, one was on a whopping 36 yard drive. If we don't turn the ball over or go full D'Onofrio on 3rd downs these inbreds have nothing for us.

This feels to me a bit like the Arkansas State game a few years back, I remember being put on upset alert then too against a "dangerous", "well coached" mid major.

If I recall the game correctly, App St had Tennessee by the balls after a fast start, then proceeded to play uber conservative. They allowed Tennessee's superior athletes to get back into the game.

We're going to rock their world.

That UT game was garbage. UT played like **** and App just wasn't impressive at all. I watched every play.

That's what I've been saying as well. App State had that game gift wrapped and couldn't close. What's going to happen if Miami comes to play and doesn't gift wrap it for them? Beatdown city.
