Mark Richt is the best coach Georgia has ever had. He took us from the terrible Goff/ Donnan era and made us into a 9 to 10 program. We were very close to winning it all (see 2012). Richt won us 2 SEC Championship and several east titles. Richt isn’t perfect, but he is defintely top 8 coach currently. He can be stobburn as seen with the QB situation and offensive play calling, but if I were a Miami fan I would be patient with him. Georgia is a tier 3 program and no where near the level of a blue chip program like Alabama, Michigan, Miami, Ohio State, etc. Georgia also isn’t a national brand (in both football and academics) like Miami and cannot get the same level of recruits. Miami is significantly ahead of Georgia regarding everything. South Florida has some of the best recruits in the country. If Richt can make Georgia a 9-10 win program, Richt can certainly make Miami into a consistent play off contender due to more resources. Miami fanbase must give Richt more time, so Miami can get his guys in and the dividend will pay off.

There are many fans right now, who are regretting the decision to let him go... especially after Georgia’s terrible blowout to LSU yesterday.

This is the very mentality that kept Richt around UGA.

That fanbase and admin finally came around and within two years, they were a play away from winning it all.

Get lost you ***king moron . Georgia fans were dancing in the street for days when Richt got fired.

"Hey guys, I was an abused spouse, but he provided for our family so the bumps and bruises were worth. Overall, outside the backhand slaps, he was a good man for the part. We ended up raising a nice family when it was all said and done.

"As a couple you just need to ride this out."

This is basically what this is saying.

Says John Richt

Kirby looks less impressive when the roster is composed of more and more of his players.

UGA was an absolute dumpster fire after the H Walker and Dooley days. Other than that small window UGA history looks more like Kentucky than Miami.

I’ve never understood their ego for their program. Of course they’d love Richt, he made them relevant.

Jon Gruden/Kirby similarity. He won the super bowl at TB with with Dungy's players and was crap after that.

Are they dancing now though?

With Richt, they accepted him (until fired) for what he brought to the table.

With Smart, they expect and demand Saban level performance. The LSU loss has the UGA faithful frothing at the mouth right now.

So, honestly, if not Richt as best available to Miami at this moment, who would be better?

Miami is married to Richt for at least 3 more years as they just don't have the will to eat the cost and find someone else.

LOL at Georgia not being on par with UM academically. Georgia is one of the best public universities in the country, and rated higher than UM in most metrics.
