Great take SFBay.
DT might be the deepest position we have been at that position in the last two decades. Darrell Jackson looks and plays the part. LT56 in blossoming and he should make more plays next to him. Mesidore plays DT on passing downs, and Lichtenstein, Moultre, and the rest can all start on just about any ACC team, except maybe Clemson.
DEs were average, not outstanding. DEs need to get more pressure, more sacks and better contain.
I will be interested to see what changes or adjustments the Canes coaches make for next week. Many of these mistakes are correctable, but these mistakes must move from the correctable category to the corrected category if the Canes plan to have a great season.
I was very impressed with the offensive play calls and execution. 7-7 on third down and a score on every possession (except the fumble in the red zone after the KR), is impressive.
It was remarkable to see how much the OL really improved. I haven’t seen OL play like this since Stoutland was coaching the OL.
Not a single dropped pass all game.
Great point regarding the D Ends. I tried to limit my review to stuff that I could see at field level and less about overall play, which many others have covered.
Regarding the D Ends I will say that they were playing with big motors but were overly aggressive in chasing the QB and not focusing on containment.
