Listened for over 20 minutes and it was just them talking. I'm sure glad that with all those new signees and recruits in there that I did find out they have a boat race coming up in march...................
He’s always shamelessly promoting. He kind of makes me cringe. I was in there for a few minutes and couldn’t take listing to him. I actually can’t believe he’s so successful. I guess that’s why I am not a billionaire.

Is it pretty much guaranteed that the Ruiz multi billion dollar deal goes through?

Not at all. Many questions if it is real. To most finance people the math doesn't add up and the deal is very "non-traditional" in the way it comes to it's valuation.

He is not a billionaire. He is involved in a unique SPAC transaction the he and his business partner valued his company at multi-billions. The company has never made a profit.

Ruiz is educating the players and straigh recruiting them on the U. He is talking about investing in them, helping them how to speam to network. Talking about how Miami is the hub of technology now and the opportunity to grow their brand/ business here by making contact with people. Said that the money that is being poured by the University and those outside is incredible more than any time in history, that no one can stop this train. They also said they are hearing people calling them grifters and talking trash about them and that that has made them double down on not only proving everyone wrong but making sure that they leave a lasting legacy. They are 100% committed to the U, The city and the kids.

Well almost a billionaire if the deal goes through. I get it’s not done but he’s sure acting like it’s going to get done. Fake it till you make it I guess.

Haven't been down there in many years (for the obvious reasons), but I might venture out.

There's a place just south of the flea market called Tortas El Rey, I definitely recommend it.

To the east of the Flea Market, on Orange Avenue, is a little spot called Taqueria Ameca. Another one that I highly recommend.

In another reply, I mentioned MX Taco on Bumby, amazing place, I've met the owner several times, very nice guy. Legit food, he makes posole on Thursday.

I've just started going to a new place up on 17-92 in Maitland called Jalapeno's Mexican Eats, I've been twice in 2 weeks. Family owned and operated, both times I've been, it was the daughter who was the only one working.

There's a place up on Lee Road called Mi Gordita Loca, I found it just before COVID a couple of years ago, so I've only been there once, and it's very good.

Finally, if you are ever way north, up in Sorrento on State Road 46, there is a little bodega called El Paso Meat Market & Restaurant. The "restaurant" is just a couple of tables on the inside of the store, but it's good.

There's also some little spots here and there from about Haines City to Plant City, food trucks too. Not as "permanently established" as the spots I mentioned above.

Later this year, Torchy's Tacos (from Austin, TX I think) will be opening up a couple of locations in Orlando.

And there better not be a single person who accuses me of derailing the thread, after about 50 pages of wrestling posts...

Oh, and here's part of the menu from MX Taco:

Might have to try the place in Sorrento that’s not too far from me.

That and how he turns a simple yes or no question into a 20 minute response. I'm assuming that's the lawyer in him. He needs to learn his audience. Yes we're all very thankful and appreciative of his generosity, but we don't need a 20 minute lecture how his family has some of the best contacts in sports and entertainment in a UM Football twitter space. We want to talk players and coaches not that his son has Shaq on speed dial.

Yeah Torchy's is from Austin, they are opening up a spot in Altamonte later this year.

Hunger St Tacos(Winter Park) and Black Rooster Taqueria (Mills 50) are pretty nice

If you're up in Casselberry/Fern Park, there's a little food truck called Francisco's Taco Madness, they used to be in front of Lowes, now they are across 17-92 from it, but they make some mean Al Pastor... their burritos are a little sloppy, but some of the best I've had in town

Agree on Hunger Street and Black Rooster, but those are bit more "high-end" taco spots, I wanted to give Medley the somewhat more authentic/family-owned spots.

But I'll definitely look for the food truck. There used to be a 24 hour Mexican spot at 17-92 and 436 back in the day, but I think they tore it down and built a Chipotle.

Alright, last insane suggestion for you and @MedleyCane ...

Grattin Dog - almost impossible to find, it's in the parking lot of the Citgo gas station at the corner of 436 and 427 (the back of the store is right up against the SunRail tracks). This place does Colombian burgers and hot dogs and it is awesome. Literally, no seating inside, but it's worth a trip.
