Some interesting stats...

Dude that’s why I’m not as down as most here, we’ve had a lot of weird , bad **** happen. Maybe it’s the percentages evening out from the fluke 17 season.

I see a lot of positives , there’s no way those numbers look that way with last years team or even the 17 year. There’s lots of positives with the eye ball test , we’re just 0-2. Which makes people angry and emotional.

Drops , missed fgs blown coverages are all happening at the worst times. But that’s growing pains I’ve mentioned , if we’re still doing this in week 10 then we have a major problem. I just don’t see it continuing. The jump of the o, qb and ol was huge in one bye week. I see that continuing as a whole. That’s what young teams do.

While i May be disappointed i still see a lot of positives to take from it most notably the offense imo and the continued improvement that will come. I actually Look forward to watching the offense now for the first time in a long time. We absolutely beat ourselves in those 2 games and quite frankly should have won both of them. We literally gave these 2 games away, I mean ultimately you are what you are but i dont Think this is a 0-2 type of team despite what it’s record obviously indicates.

Neither should anyone. I guess what infuriates everyone is that it's not like we were manhandled. We were up late in the 4th quarter both games but we let it get away from us.

Not to shabby. If we could only kick a fieldgoal we would all be sittin around smoking cuban cigars toasting to f**king Manny Diaz.
Someone said this earlier but how the **** can you not find a kicker in Miami of all places?

All stats are vs FBS P5 opponents...keep in mind we’ve probably played the toughest schedule in CFB through 2 games.

Rushing defense - #6 at 73.5 yds/game and 2.3 yds/attempt

Rushing yards per game - Deejay Dallas #18 at 100.5 yds/game and #14 at 8.04 yds/carry

Passing yards per game - Jarren Williams #23 at 261.5 yds/game, #9 at 71% completions, #29 at 7.6 yds/attempt, and #21 at 149.03 rating

Brevin Jordan - leads all P5 TEs in yds/game, also leads all CFB TEs in yards per game regardless of opponent

Rushing yards allowed - #6 at 73.5 yds/game and #4 at 2.3 yds/rush

Total offense - #31 at 394.5 yds/game and #26 at 5.56 yds/play

Total defense - #19 at 346.5 yds/game

TFLs - #14 at 8.0 per game

3rd down conversions allowed - #6 at 20%

pretty good godd@m stats. what's missing? that we lost both games because of special teams. that's it. bubba baxa cost us two games. these stats show that we are going in the right direction. fire our ST coach and hire a coach dedicated ONLY to special teams.

I hear ya. We managed to find a punter from Australia but we can't find a soccer player in Miami. Between punting last year and kicking this year it is killing us... I think we are getting paid back for all the wide rights and lefts we benefited from against FsU. Although we have paid them back a few times already with botched snaps on fieldgoals and missed PATs. Is it too hard to find someone to make a chip shot!

Defense has taken a step back, which anyone without blinders on predicted all summer.

That being said, the defense has been good enough to win both games. Certainly the gator game. They weren’t great, but the offense has not been good enough in either game. And special teams haven’t been good enough to wipe your *** with.

Deejay averaging a Goreish 8+ yards per carry. That's gaudy. Feed this beast with more touches.

How are you saying the defense was good enough to win both games(implying unc after its early and late game blunder by the defense) but say the offense has not been good enough in the unc game?

Because they didn’t finish drives. 490 yards is nice. But they’ve scored 4 TDs in 9 red zone trips thru 2 games. That’s terrible. Gotta score points, you’re not gonna win a ton of games scoring in the mid/low 20s unless you have an absolutely elite defense, which we don’t.

3 different goal to go situations in 1 quarter is encouraging. 10 points on those 3 trips is terrible. Shouldn’t have needed a 4th and 17 stop if you score the points you should’ve with almost 500 yards and 27 first downs.

Those stats tell me that there's no f'ucking way we should be 0-2!

There is a way. It's called close game luck. You play close games, you lose close games. Only way to avoid losing close games is by blowing teams out. We're not there yet. Until then, we'll have our fair share of close games, and we'll win about half of them, lose about half of them.

I’ll place more blame on the defense going down 17-3 in the first and then giving up a 4th and 17 on a drive the offense just handed you the lead but that’s just me. Yeah the offense could have executed better in the redzone but the defense also could have not given up what they gave up throughout the game.

That’s what makes it so frustrating. There has been a nice overall improvement.

But 28 points would’ve won us both games and we still can’t get there, also that 3rd down stat doesn’t matter as much when we’ve been getting our sht pushed in on 4th down.

I never said they were great. I said overall they were good enough to win. They were DEFINITELY good enough to win game 1, and the offense/special teams were terrible. Offense was better in week 2, defense worse, special teams still horrendously embarrassing. But to me, if you don’t score 30 in today’s game on offense, it’s a failure. Wyoming is averaging exactly 30.0 PPG.....they’re 68th in the country.

I guess I can understand not getting 30 in week 1 against what’ll be the best defense we face all year with freshmen everywhere. Zero excuse to not get 30 against an average UNC team with 2 weeks to prepare, especially when you gain 500 yards. Stop bogging down inside the 10 and make a god**** kick.

Even if we were 2-0, I wouldn’t feel any different about our prospects moving forward. The W’s would just be masking the fact that this team has a lot of work to do.

Did you expect anything other than this team having a lot of work to do?

You didn't know that following last year's record?

You didn't expect that with a first time coaching staff?

You didn't foresee some growing pain with a green roster and questions all over the place?

Man, people are delusional and seriously overestimating our talent level if they didn't think we'd have a lot of work to do.
