This is Mario's roster.
Upper echelon QB
Littered with talent across the board
Multiple 5-stars on the roster
13th best roster in the nation according to stars ranking.

You can print and tell me any reason In the world why the other kid started and Johnson didn’t. The simple fact is Jimbo and his staff thought it was the best choice. Now after 1 game in which you lost to a team that gave up 62 to UNc you hit the panic button.

This A&M team has a roster that has a lot of money put into it. They are going to be tight and an early haymaker will only make that worse. A Win would set up for a potential awesome run to early signing day and be that win that shows we are starting to really shift the program in all phases and not just media hype.

And couldn't consistently move the ball against a FCS school that doesn't know how to spell Bearcat correctly.

Max Johnson starting doesn't mean anything.

He may play better than what King has done, but If he were better, then he would have been the starter game 1.

They're hoping he'll be better than King. It doesn't guarantee he will be. The, "He gives AtM a better chance to win" is unfounded conjecture.

I think the games comes down to our pass rush and coverage. If we're solid in those areas, we win. Our run defense should be solid.

The typical play the backup he is better. All the optimism until the 1st sack or pick.

Hope we're all over him like he stole from us.
 
I’ll say this , we don’t have many advantages but QB, DL, St’s and even the te’s have pretty good matchups and can win our share. Their DL is young and talented so I’d love to see plenty of eye candy from Gattis to test their discipline. Young guys in a big game environment tend to lose focus. Their eyes can go where they don’t belong. Hopefully we use motion ,speed / jet sweep action , PA and screens to te’s and backs. I’d also like to see us move the pocket with Tvd , rolling him out or giving him the option to use his feet on the roll out. Lastly something I’ve noticed is on every run play TVD plays out the action, selling the keep. Not once did I see a defender even look in his direction. So there could be yards to steal if he were to keep it a couple times , especially on third and shorts.

Its not excuses, but don't kid yourself, its far from his roster in Y3.

He inherited an OL talent room that probably wouldnt start on top HIGH SCHOOL Dade/Broward teams.
