Some Dante Phillips clarification

Word is he also made a big jump late in his test scores. Something that usually gets flagged. We have had kids in the past who were told they were good by the NCAA only to be pulled out later because their test score was flagged. Unfortunately, I just don't see this kid being admitted here.

Kid's clips don't impress me all that much but go back and read the reviews from the USAA game.... the Rivals crew all raved about him at DT.

Apparently the issue with him and UF besides the late jump already talked about was that he needed one more class which he knew about for over a year and waited until the last second and got it from a "diploma mill." The NCAA cleared him but UF was basically like hey we need more background here and he couldn't provide it. Think Pat Peterson qualifying at LSU.

Definitely looks like an OT all the way. There's a big assumption there-- that clip only has two plays at OT--but I know this much: (1) he has the perfect OT tools at 6'6, 270 with long arms and good coordination/flexibility; and (2) he's not a Hurricane defensive tackle. No force off the ball.

If we bring him in, I hope we don't waste any time and put him right there on the OL.

Those are Sophomore highlights. He made huge strides since then and played with plenty of force at the Army week.

Here he is(#50) pretty much getting worked all day long at DT, as a senior.

I can't figure out how this kid was a 4 star, his "highlights" are average as ****

Upside. Maquedius Bain has much less impressive highlights and Golden still wants him. If you show flashes of elite ability and have a work ethic our staff will trust their ability to develop that talent.
