My patience is….. well….

I personally believe that the presence of the search firm makes it highly unlikely that Jurich is going to be recommended as a viable candidate. If we are also to believe that the firm is solely focused on sitting AD's (and not Associate AD's) then a guy like Jeff Purinton from Alabama likely won't be in the mix either. With that said, here is a list of viable candidates to keep an eye on:

Doug Knuth (Nevada) - Nevada is a really difficult program to win at and he's made really solid hires in Jay Norvell for football and Eric Musselman and Steve Alford for basketball. Has also been an Associate AD at Utah and Michigan State.

Brian White (FAU) - Name has been mentioned quite a bit around these parts and not sure if you need a national search firm for a guy who is 90 minutes up the road. Still, he does a really good job at FAU and comes from strong bloodlines with his brother the AD at Tennessee and his father the long-time AD at Duke. There's also the Lane Kiffin connection...

Mike Hill (Charlotte) - Spent 25 years at UF, most recently as their Executive Associate AD. Charlotte hasn't exactly been an athletics juggernaut (although they just moved up to FCS in football) but think that the quarter century in UF's AD makes him an attractive candidate.
Jurich or GTFO

Question:

-How was he railroaded when a huge *** scandal, and a bribe scandal (which vacated UL’s Nat’l title) happened under his watch? Settlements do not “necessarily” mean exonerated; it could mean he had dirt on his employers that they didn’t want to get out (I know this from a former colleague who settled even though he was dirty af.)

Anyways, I’m just not sure if the term “railroaded” should be used w/ Jurich.
I could see giving Jurich a shot because he has that letter exonerating him of any wrongdoing by the university. However, Pitino cannot be realistically considered. I have seen the Canes go through enough NCAA bs in my 48 years of being a fan. Yes, Pitino can win games. However, there is just way too much baggage there. Enough to vacate a National Championship and for him to be fired for cause.

Willie Arthur Taggart is now 10-10 at FAU, after FAU went 26-13 under Kiffin; and prior to FAU, Taggart went 9-12 at FSU. Yet, he was a good hire? Oh, he was also:
16-20 at Western Kentucky
24-25 at USF
7-5 at Oregon

For a grand total record at the G5 & P5 level at a remarkable: 66-72. I’m not sure if I ever seen a coach w/ a sub .500 record over 4 schools ever be considered a “good hire.”

Lol!

Jurich or Ian McCaw… current AD at Liberty and former AD at Baylor from 2001-2016 who built their athletic program into a powerhouse.

Ian McCaw hired Art Briles as Football HC, Scott Drew as Men’s Basketball HC, and built a new football stadium during his time at Baylor.
And fired at Baylor for serious scandal?

U better **** well care about a *** scandal if u’re The AD. Lol.

Dude, I’ve noticed when u’re laser focused on something, u defend like no other. Again, using the term “railroaded” is not remotely applicable. I’m more than 1000% sure Jurich knew & was complicit to what was taking place at UL.

Yes, I'm pretty hard headed that way. If UM wants to compete on the same level as the UGAs and Bamas, we need an AD who is a ball buster, knows how the game is played, and knows how to get deals done. I don't remember if you proposed Radokovich but he seemed quite qualified as well. I want a big time experienced AD, not someone who is moving up from an assistant AD job at Texas Tech.

I say that getting defamed, blamed for something without any proof being presented, and fired then having the accuser say "oops, nevermind" counts as being railroaded.

And you are forgetting there are 3 levels to the investigation. The school, the ncaa, and the FBI. All three layers cleared him. You can say he had dirt on Louisville so they settled, but the athletic department didn't get tagged in the ncaa notice of allegations. The ncaa specifically mentioned the Athletic department in their NOA to Arizona State , so if they thought the AD was involved, they would have said it. In the UL NOA, it was all about Pitinos failure to monitor and the basketball program. Given Jurich‘s extremely close ties to Adidas and Adidas being at the center of the bribery allegations, you really have to go into deep state conspiracy territory to think the ncaa would deliberately not mention him because they were specifically trying to protect him. Lastly the FBI investigation didn't turn up anything on Jurich. This was a multi level investigation with 3 different organizations looking into it and Jurich was not implicated by any of them. I don't know what else could possibly be said to make it more clear that in the eyes of the ncaa and the law, he wasn't involved.
