Solomon Update

So in your opinion why did they go after Solomon instead of Brown if he’s bigger and faster?

Solomon is the best cover lb in the state, and a great kid. He's the nephew of sta head coach and his mom went to um. Solomon fits the striker position to a Tee or gave us flexibility.
Me personally i love Yarde...and no he would be a lock if offered. Brown definately can play here as well.

At some point, Miami just needs to bring in backers. Outside of QB and both lines, LB is the next spot in need of talent and bodies. If the starters leave for the draft...**** is dire.

Miami desperately needs this class of LBs to be able to contribute and be All-ACC caliber performers at some point.

"His feelings toward the Hurricanes and defensive coordinator Manny Diaz have not changed, but non-football reasons could factor into him deciding to go away from home for college. Solomon preferred to keep those reasons private."

He's likely gone but some of you ***aloons blaming it on UM being a dumpster fire, Richt is the devil, etc are recruiting rookies.

The last linebacker from Broward that went to Michigan his father was offered a "defensive analyst" job (Devin Bush Sr.). I hope no coaches or relatives of Solomon are at play here, understanding that rules have changed.........
I was thinking the same thing.
That defense looked slow AF against osu. Harbaugh must be salivating to recruit more sofla speed. If an sta coach is getting hired then BOLO on Michigan offers for more sta kids.

this is a joke. please tell me this is a joke? Im sorry man I like the kid but calling a 6'0 190 lbs linebacker irreplaceaple is insane. I can find you another one tomorrow.

Please join the staff then, because Richt and crew can’t seem to find any recruits.

Watch the film.

You have dudes in this thread saying Brooks is the best LB and a possible 5* if he doesn't get injured...kid is an edge rushing tweener who gets a ton of unblocked production with skills that don't translate well to off-LOS play. I played LB for 10 years. There's no position I'm more confident in evaluating. But sure go ahead and tell yourself that a kid who moves like a DB and has excellent instincts and technique is a dime a dozen. Versatile LBs are that can play run and pass are one of the scarcest commodities in football right now.

Solomon is a very good player but he’s just so small. He has a thin frame and he’s not long or particularly fast. I worry about him in the run game.

He reminds me of a LB version of Tracy Howard. Smart, great technique, good player, but not enough size and speed to translate all his skills to the next level.

If we replace him with a guy like Jahmar Brown, I think we will be OK. If not, I agree we will be lacking in pure off-ball LBs.

With our numbers the way they are I cannot understand not taking Brown already. Yarde as well can play here.

Special teams and practice are important too. Maybe not to the level of a starting 11 on defense, but you need bodies on this roster than can run and hit.

I’m kind of over the self-inflicted probation we’ve put ourselves under.

I keep hearing "moves like a db". He runs a 4.8. Hes smooth, hes agile, he doesnt run like a db though. Hes a good linebacker but he isnt even the best one on his team. He will be alright but we will too. Not an irreplaceable kid.

I coached Linebackers in college for 3 years JUCO .........tell me what you think of James Gordon from Tampa IMO he has some of the best instincts i have seen out there and the kid can Run and Hit.......
