You’re memory is a helluva lot better than mine and for a program like we were back then, it was surprising to have as many AA’s as we did.

Truth was just rated #3 in the state by Texas Monthly (they are the magazine that everyone uses as the bible... the US News of BBQ ratings, if you will. Can't speak to its methodology.)

We had some **** good teams prior to 83...the 81 defense was better than the 83 defense. People don't realize how good that team was. We beat 5 ranked teams that yr (including #1 Penn St)..and Lost 2 games on BS Calls/Non Calls. Unfortunately we were on probation (Sabans doings) so we wouldn't have been able to play for NC that yr. The 81 team was most definitely a NC team.
