Landed in Houston a little bit ago. Time to go search out the first beer.
I don't know how UM can have 25k kids and average 4k a class. Something isn't adding up unless grad students equal a full class and even then..Not even close. Miami averages a class size of about 4K lately. We get pretty good student support considering our stadium is a zillion miles from campus and we only have 12K undergrads.
Many seem to forget or are unaware that our football program prior to 1983 wasn’t a blip on the radar. Other than a few AA’s throughout the years, our football program was totally irrelevant. There was even talk in the mid 70’s of shutting the program down.I don't know how UM can have 25k kids and average 4k a class. In any event my point is that solid fanbases are created over decades. One class after the next. One father teaching his kids to love the U. We've been at this a long time. Seems like we'd have a stronger contingent especially since we've had one of the most storied past in college football. But here we are still trying to justify poor support for the home team.
Alot programs are having attendance issues for certain games but all things considered AM get alot of support, though they might not get a sellout everytime for a capacity stadium of 102k stadium. For Sam Houston they announce just under 98k, so even tho its a packed house, not technically a sellout at 95% filled. App St. was 92kI had the impression that all their home games sell out .....?
Same, except have a business lunch first. What breweries/bars are on the radar while here?Landed in Houston a little bit ago. Time to go search out the first beer.

Not too sure. Never been to Houston before so I’ll have to do some searching around.Same, except have a business lunch first. What breweries/bars are on the radar while here?
True to an extent but UM is also a destination university. People come from somewhere else, get their degree and move back to where they came from. The U has been getting 10k new students a year for the last 50+ years. Fans don't have to be made up of current students. I make 1 or 2 games a year. I never went to UM.
Miami is just a front running city.

It was the 77/78 in ref to shutting the FB program down. And there was wayyy more than a few AA's at UM prior to 1983.Many seem to forget or are unaware that our football program prior to 1983 wasn’t a blip on the radar. With all that being said, we don’t have the long term traditions of other schools like 8&4. Ours lasted less than 20 years but did have a huge impact in that short period of time.
