Smh it’s definitely not a good sign haha.
He's been trying to transfer for a while.
They (him & pops) disliked the commute from home to Palm Beach county. They also wanted to play against better competition.
All of the good Broward schools had their Quarterback position sewed up at the time, so that made his options limited. Gibbons, Heritage, STA, Chaminade and Western all had their program QB's in concrete. That's how he ended up at Dillard. But after seeing how much of an unorganized dumpster fire Dillard was, his dad pulled him out of there ASAP. They were also turned off by the (almost daily) code reds that took place at the school.

Dad is an elite athlete himself and puts a lot of value in organization and development. Pops was actually "sold" by the fact that the HC at Western would not guarantee Davi a starting spot or his preferred jersey number...that he would be expected to work for it. So they're definitely not the type of people to run from work. The kid is an extremely hard worker, a natural leader and will actually organize throwing/practice sessions himself via the team group chat. Kids want to follow him.

I know that sometimes the habitual transfers can be a red flag but I think this situation is different.

One thing that people should know about transfers is a law signed by Gov. Scott around 2016-2017.

Parents can request to send a student to another school within the district, and even out of district schools anywhere in the state, provided that the requested school is not already full.

The state will not guarantee transportation, and more than a certain number of absences can be flagged as evidence that parents are not providing adequate transportation. These can be grounds for disqualification from further attendance.

Just wanted people to be aware that this is part of the transfer picture in the public school world.
