I've heard Stavridis has all but been eliminated. TIFWIW
I heard it wasn't as much a done deal as it was trending to be but he's still in the running. His perceived moderatism and not far left enough stance is hurting him. But the money and academic strengths he would bring with military, federal, and Tufts connections is too compelling.
Gregory Maggs, Dean of Law at George Washington University, and Davison Douglas, Dean of Law at the College of William and Mary are also being considered.
Notice how all of those guys are at schools where sports are nothing--Tufts (sounds like a hemorrhoid cream); GWU; and Bill and Mary.
That should tell you guys all you need to know about the continued direction of UM.
Tufts is in the nescac conference which is arguably the most competitive D3 conference
