So we payed Temple 4 million to get Manny ?

Yeah, I'm really curious about that as well.

Someone said that Diaz never actually signed his Temple contract. If so, nothing more than a courtesy buyout by Miami would be my guess.

So what is the real story?

It’s bullchit that he didn’t sign his deal. ESPN has not stopped reporting how Temple just made $6.5 million this offseason in buyouts they received between UM and GT.

It is true an no more threads about this, please. Done deal. Get on board or get out and find another team.

Anyone saying this is true, I'd love to see sources. Just because he HAD a $4 million buyout, doesn't mean that's what we paid, or all at once. He might eat some of it in his salary.

In all likelihood the exact terms will never be made public.

Most likely MD will have his salary adjusted to account for this. It will not cost the Univ much of anything. I'm surprised MD didn't have a UM out-negotiated in his deal.

Theoretically you could just adjust Manny's buyout here by $4 mil in the favor of UM. Make him essentially pay back the money we may have given Temple if he leaves or we can him 2-3 years from now as he supposedly got a 5 yr deal from us.

My apologies. I asked what I thought was a legitimate question. I did not realize you had spoken and the matter was closed.

As you are in the know, you can give us your inside sources? Cashmoneycane is likely accurate above.

Chump change if that's the case. If they had gone after a current HC, probably would have cost twice that at least.

Probably not, especially some of these mid major guys. Miami chose to do something stupid, and guess what? They are going to pay for it. LMFAO at this entire joke, and LMFAO at people trying to justify it.

Time will tell.

Someone on another board...at leadt acting like he knows...said it was pennies on the dollar. Not 4 million and reasonable for UM. Fwiw

Yep, Temple would do Miami that solid. Why would they? It screws them. Diaz didn't negotiate a Miami Out clause. Temple has all the leverage, because it's Diaz that looks like a scumbag by stiffing them like this. Remember, Diaz fails at Miami, I don't see him getting a HC again. To pull a move like he did is the kind of thing most ADs aren't going to overlook.
