So we finally offer Treon Harris as a QB.

I'm willing to bet that Treon Harris will be a more successful college QB than Olsen, Kayaa, and Rosier when it's all said and done barring injury to all of them. People can talk mess about his 5'11 stature and the style of offense he plays in, but you just can't account for his ability to make plays. Treon has shined whenever the lights were bright for 3 seasons in one of the most competitive places in the country.

Ice, stop trollin'.

Treon vs the field? I'll take it.

I want Treon too, but Towner4life has to be Ice or relative of Brandon and Treon. This dude was on Grassy a few years ago arguing with me and everybody on the board that told him that Brandon shouldn't leave early for the NFL because he wasn't skilled enough yet. Years later, Brandon still hasn't done squat in the league. A year with Paul teaching him proper fundamentals could have done him some good.

I don't think you made a good argument... If anything, he may not have been in the league... He's three years strong in the league... He contributes just isn't a star... Looks like Brandon is doing good for himself...

So an all American who graduated should stay another year. Yeah real smart guy here

Inb4 "You probably said the same thing about Bridgewater" even tho they are 2 COMPLETELY different types of QBs.

Not true... If you watched both play from their 10th grade years to 12th grade years... You'll see a similar evolvement and progression qb play... All Teddy did as a 10th grader was rollouts and boot legs... All Treon did was option runs... By their senior years both were elite passers... The kid can throw... I mean his performance against Norcross was proof... He's FSU qb for the future... Forget height... I also see Jumbo tailoring the offense to Harris' strengths...

Dude could have done much better for himself had he just stayed. He had first round talent. He could have been a star not just a JAG.

What evidence suggests staying would have made him better? If anything, everyone who returns draft stock drops... That's been this staff's issues since they became coaches... I haven't saw anything from the secondary that points to him being a potential 1st round talent... Harris went 2bd round... So far it looks like this staff would have had him udfa...

Don't care about him as a prospect.

Why are we wasting our time with him?

Must be to kiss Ice's ***.
yeah, fsu is stupid. they recruit garbage. wouldn't know talent if it qb'ed the best high school team in the country for three straight years and grew up wearing orange and green. smfh

You said it. Best TEAM in the country. Dude was surrounded by ballers.

Dude is a tweener with no real position.

kids a straight up beast of a football player. fsu played it perfectly. if he isn't a qb there, he will ball out at another position. smh

You guys are starting to sound like the Tebow fanatics of old. It's so glaringly obvious that you're gonna be proved wrong yet you keep the feverish dream of Treon succeeding at QB alive and well.

I hate the fruit, but he had a pretty decent college career didn't he?

I should've said NFL Tebow fanatics.

Lmao. The staff turned Brandon McGee and Tommy Streeter into draftable players where they would have been nothing before hand. Please name the players whose draft stock has dropped as a direct result of the staffs after staying for their senior years.

Exactly, 3 years later Brandon is still in the league on the same team he was drafted by. Like the above poster said, there is no evidence he would have been drafted higher had he stayed. He measured at 5'9 and only ran 4.5. The odds were stacked against him no matter when he came out, luckily Brandon has all the other intangibles and still was drafted in 2nd round.

Anyway, I stand by my argument of Treon. He will be the best of the 3 QBs when it's all said and done. It's my opinion and I'm completely fine that you have your opinion.

How well did that work out for us with Jacory Harris? I think this kid deserves a fair shot at QB, but will the back lash be worth it if he doesn't get the starting job?

I think between JH and SM this staff is all set with the SF qb's. Because they carry too much weight in the community and locker room. In both of our previous qbs situations they were at times playing bad enough to deserve to be replaced, however with all the sofla guys in support of those qbs at the time it may have turned into a mutiny situation if you benched their boy. I think the community aspect of this team is also this teams biggest downfall, you end up having so many local people interested in their players over the team that it becomes a difficult situation to monitor as far as the team aspect goes. Maybe I am looking too much into it... But I KNOW Treon carries some serious weight in the community around here with his family and if we tried to move him from QB prior to the locals feeling like he got a fair shot it would be a HUGE detriment to local recruiting. I still think we are only offering because it makes us look good to the community and then they cant say we never offered or tried. I do not think this aspect of recruiting in sofla is given enough credence. And when your campus is four/five hours away, or out of state, it is a lot easier to make changes to players without the local back lash. Where as we have guys like Luke just looking for a reason to play the race card, or some **** like that.

I agree with everything you said people don't realize how much backlash goes on when certain players are not producing or getting on the field its always the coaches fault or other excuse and its never the player. One example I can think of is Aldarius Johnson I don't think he would have produced at any school because he just didn't have the drive.

Than a kid like Amari Cooper sees that and wants to go to Bama to get "developed" because he hears all the local bashing of our coaching staff etc. from the fans.

Let me add this too the excuse list of why Cooper decided to go to Tuscaloosa vs staying home.

What is it with the fugging trolls around here and everything has to be labelled as an "excuse"? The world isn't black and white. South Florida football is not black and white. Any time a SoFla kid leaves to go play somewhere other than Miami, the coach is a failure and should be fired. There are no legit reasons why that might ever happen, right? Dumbarse fanbase...

I agree that recruiting, particularly in SoFLA, isn't black and white, but we should have a better hit rate.

In the last two classes alone, we've missed on Collins, Thomas, Bryant, Bostwick, Michel, Cook, Rudolph, Dixon, and Powell. Lane, in all likelihood, is gone, and I'm still iffy on Valentine. I hope I'm wrong, but I still think he pops for LSU. Looks like JC Jackson is no longer a UM lean either, but again, I hope I'm wrong.

Not all of those kids were paid to go to schools. Maybe some wanted out of Miami, but Golden and the staff need to do their jobs and convince kids to stay. Enough trying to convince yourself that Golden can't do anything to keep kids home who want to leave; he gets paid millions to do so.

We can't get them all, but some of those kids we're big time needs.

We need to do better.

You may be correct, but we will never know if Treon sticks with Noles. They like them some BIG qbs. They are BSing him about QB. I would like him at THE U. My only concern is the crap that will hit the fan if he doesn't start at QB. To me, the biggest negative to Treon at Miami is not his height, but his supporters and their mouths.

Personally, I like drop back pro style Qbs becuase that is Cane DNA and 5 NCs go with it. Perhaps time has moved on and we need a "new"
type of QB. If so, Treon is a good choice, but for Luke, Ice, PED head Sileo and the local reporters. When Treon ends up as DB at FSU, not a sound will be heard; can you assure the same treatment for THE U?

A lot of kids have always left SoFla to play elsewhere. It's always been that way, even when Howard wanted to put up his fence. I don't want any coach at Miami to waste time and resources recruiting a kid who isn't interested, just because he's local. He needs to expend those finite resources convincing the kids who he has a real shot at convincing. Enough trying to convince yourself that Golden can change the way SoFla football and recruiting have ALWAYS been; there's no amount of money you can pay a coach to change it.
