I guess auburn, florida, and whever else offered this late is desperate too

We dont know what is goin on behind the scenes maybe hes wavering from FSU, or he is accepting to change his position

something is going on behind the scene this has caught my attention does pete or anyone know what's going on?

Florida also offered him, lol

Not saying its not true but where have you read this? I know UF offered Quinton Flowers a few weeks back, hadn't heard anything on Harris.

LOL. Desperation move by Muschamp. Too late, all those boys are going to FSU. Kinda pathetic actually. Nothing in his play has changed for an offer to come now except Cook, Lane, and JC heading to Tallahasee and being recruited hard by Harris.

IF we didn't like him then it's pathetic that we offer now. Personally didn't have a problem with no offer. THis late it comes off as pathetic.

Y'all are hilarious.

1) Offering him as a QB does not mean we want him as a QB. It means we offer him what he wants and need be change him later, just like FSU was gonna do.

2) It isn't just "our staff", so cut the bull****. Florida and Auburn also offered him as a QB, which to me says there have to be rumblings of his commitment to FSU.

3) This offer ain't got **** to do with Kaaya, Rosier, or Olsen until it does. Until then, no sense in poopin your panties. Tito said yall fake.

What makes it a desperation move? Did we lose Kaaya or Rosier?

Maybe Golden has finally decided to start lying just like the rest of them. ****, Treon isnt even listed as a QB on Scout or ESPN. 247 has him listed as an "athlete/QB." Only Rivals lists him as a QB.
They had plenty of time to evaluate him as a QB and should have known whether they wanted to offer him at QB 3 months ago. Like you said, we're not losing the committed QBs so why do we need to offer another now? This one just happens to be a local star who definitely influences other local studs. Just at a time when several local studs seem to be defecting to FSU.

Al didn't just drop his pillars and all that **** now and decide to lie to a kid just to get him here. If he did, then he's a moron for doing it way too late

I'm still of the opinion that Golden is not going to consider him at QB, which is the same as Jimbo Fisher IMO. The kid will be a DB and the major recruiting services (and most of us here) already know this. GOlden might be feeling some pressure and decided to play the game at the level of his competition.

The Kevin Olson saga might also be a factor here.

Either way, Im not seeing desperation, rather a change in circumstance.

Agree. Not sure why people are making such a big deal out of this. We had particular needs that we focused on. It's quite possible the coaches reevaluated the incoming class, how many slots may still be left, and then decided there would be enough room to go ahead and offer him as what he is, a project. Everyone keeps whining about how the staff keeps taking projects, but then whined about not offering Harris. He is the poster boy of projects when it comes to being a QB, and he had previously said he didn't want to play any other position. Many players get offers later in the recruiting cycle after the staff has determined that there would be room for them.

My frustration is that it is too little too late.

Hearing Giovanni Bernard also received his UM offer today

Bernard was a top-notch back that made it very clear that he wanted to get out of the state. Harris is a project QB who has been insisting on being a QB even though it's highly unlikely he'll make it as one in any major college program.

Yea, and that's why they offered Quinton Flowers...weeks ago. He's the exact same type of QB but better. You think its a coincidence Treon gets an offer now after Cook flipped and JC and Lane are joining him?

1) If we didn't want him as a QB, we could/should have offered much earlier.
2) I understand the concept of seeing more film before being convinced a kid (especially a QB) deserves an offer but this logic falls flat b/c we offered Rosier so early and you can't tell me his JR film was that much better than Treon's
3) How do you know?

He's a few miles away from the school. It has nothing to do with any of that. It has to do with the fact we made a decision some time ago to play this one a certain way. If we suddenly changed 1 month before signing day, playing it differently is all sorts of strange. It's a variant of offering Skai Moore on signing day. And, no matter how you want to spin it, I find it difficult to interpret it as a positive indicator. Even those who'll say "well, maybe we're showing flexibility," I'd have to ask whether this supports some of the lingering chatter about us being too rigid until we have no other choice. Then offer as if we're doing someone a favor.

I hope this is just a rumor. If it's real, it makes me wonder about the approach.

This is why Miami would lose out on a kid like this. Treon was offered by Auburn during the 2nd week of the playoffs. Coach Craig at Auburn was the QB coach for FSU when Treon was first offered in camp, he knew how Treon felt about FSU. So when he left for Auburn he knew it was an uphill battle especially after Sean White committed to them. But with the emergence of Nick Marshall they decided they would go all out for Treon to keep a similar offenss to what they are running now. Craig and Lashlee have been all over him ever since and made up a lot ground based on their style of play and the success of this season.

Florida came into the picture right before the XMAS when they decided on their new OC. They are going to be more spread/zone read next season and felt he was the best guy out there for that. So officially offered him Monday and they're now trying to convince him to visit.

Miami on the other hand called yesterday and said that they have been watching film on him a lot and some of the coaches on the staff felt he was too good of a QB to let get out of here based on thoughts of "batted balls". He changes games with his ability to make plays and you can't let him give you headaches playing QB for FSU.

Every school he's conversating with now has every intention of allowing him to play QB. Treon is still solidly committed to FSU. Auburn is the next closest relationship he has built with staff members.
