So we finally offer Treon Harris as a QB.

Treon from itu

But I don’t like how they came at me late.”

Sure Treon?! Sure man. Powell was offered by UF a while ago huh? And talk to D. Freeman as to when fsu offered him during his recruiting? This quote is absolute bafoonery.

The other thing to keep in mind, I dont think Treon is coming here to cause trouble. For all you can say about Ice Harris, I dont think he's that shady. He's not going to encourage Treon to come here and MF the U and try to disrupt things. He has several of his kids committed here, worked here, sons played here, there is definitely some tension there, but I dont see Ice doing us like that. If Treon was going to come here to cause trouble, he would tell him to just skip the OV.

Call me crazy, but I think there may be a little more than 0% chance here. Maybe its just 1%, but again, the talk doesnt match the action here.

who cares if and when we offered this kid

we got a great QB committed why are all of you guys moping about an offer

Because nothing but complaining, whining and moping are allowed on these boards. Any hint of reason, calm, patience, or logic will get you tarred and feathered as a Golden slurper.

Did he even play in US Army Game I watched 8 mins into the 4th and he was no where to found

What makes it a desperation move? Did we lose Kaaya or Rosier?

Maybe Golden has finally decided to start lying just like the rest of them. ****, Treon isnt even listed as a QB on Scout or ESPN. 247 has him listed as an "athlete/QB." Only Rivals lists him as a QB.

Dont be surprised some of this is on our admin brass. Coley knows how to recruit, hes baby Jesus to our class right now. We have been recruiting like this for years now.

All i know is were in trouble wjy offer this kid local kids like him constantly fail at qb the U must get out of state qbs because the local ones are horrible...

You're right cane4lifenj! Teddy sucks, cato sucks, o'korn sucks, Ruddock sucks... Wait a minute no they don't... Although Harris and Morris had their bad moments they are 2 and 3 regarding the schools all time passing... For the past 3 years we ignored the local qbs and the players we got did absolutely nothing... They either transfer or quit...

He's taking an official to UF...

Really? According to many here he should be offended and insulted, since UF only just now offered.

UF just recently hired a new OC, what's our excuse for just now giving him a shot at QB?

Don't need an "excuse". He's a project QB that we are now offering a shot since our core class is pretty much done and we have room to take a gamble on him.

WELL WELL WELL. The plot thickens. Courtesy visit because of pops and the "local school" or something more???

Maybe FSU HAS cooled on him. After all, they got who they really wanted from down here (Cook). FWIW, and this is probably bullsh*t, I read on some board that there is a rumor that Cook and Treon have some kidn of beef? And that Cook had supposedly told FSU he wouldnt go there if Treon was.

Sounds like bullsh*t to me, but just feel like adding some fuel to the fire.

Feels like Matthew Thomas all over. A courtesy visit out of respect to the hometown school.

So clearly he felt so "offended" and "insulted" by the offer as some of you are trying to pretend, that he decided to give Miami a courtesy visit out of respect. Yeah, that's it.

Exactly. Treon is not even close to being a superstar QB recruit. In fact, until recently he's have very little interest from major schools as a QB. So instead of not liking how they came at him late, he should deal with the reality that marginal recruits (he wouldn't be as an athlete, but as a QB like he insists, he is a project) don't necessarily get early offers.

This staff just not get how to recruit this area.

Treon Harris should have been offered a year ago.

Why? He is not a highly-regarded QB recruit. We offered him as an athlete. He said he wanted to play QB so he declined. Now that the recruiting season is well along and the majority of the core recruiting class is lined up, this is when schools begin to offer the project players who you take a gamble on to see if they pan out. As a QB that is exactly what Treon is. Notice that Auburn and UF did the same exact thing.

Lets all hold hands and cry because we just offered a kid who most sites believe won't be a qb...when we have the ******* top 5 qb in the country

No no no. You dont get it. Treon is "wired in". He's got lots of friends down here who want to play with him, so THATS why we should have offered him a year ago. Its not that most guys are convinced that a 5'10 running QB with a questionable arm who doesnt fit our offense at all is a great idea to bring in as a QB, its that we should be bowing down and kissing the ring of some high school kid who everyone "likes". The funny thing is, before the season, it was Winky Flowers who we just HAD to offer at QB, because he knew everyone, and everyone wanted to play with him. Now its Treon. We landed an elite 11 QB, and people are still pining about a kid that our staff really doesnt have very high on their QB board despite having EVERY opportunity to evaluate him thoroughly.

Haha I remember the winky phase. Gotta love crootin...I remember hearing "rg3 and vick put together" comparisons :rollcanes:
