So Temple is Undefeated and Ranked...

Someone already said it......Al Golden is the textbook rebuilder, but he has that glass ceiling that will always keep him from being a championship coach. Temple should be grateful that Golden brought in a culture that made them think they could win. They should also be grateful that he left so that the next guy could take it to the next level.

How is Golden a textbook rebuilder if Miami has gotten worse since Shannon? Additionally, Temple has had two different head coaches since Golden left. This will Temple's first winning season since 2011 so I'm not sure what type of culture of winning Golden brought to Temple.

Miami wasn't a rebuilding project. Miami needed someone to take the program to the next level. Shannon wasn't the guy and Golden isn't the guy. Not sure why you thought I meant that he did any "rebuilding" at Miami.

As for Temple, you're being intellectually dishonest if you don't think they were in better shape when he left than when ho got there. Hence the "textbook rebuilder" comment. He can go into a dumpster fire and organize it to the point where a program is respectable. Not many guys are cut out to do that. But that's where his skill ends. He can't take a decent team and make it a championship team.

Huh? He took them from 0-11 to 9-4. What does the stretch from 2011 until now have to do with anything?

Temple is Temple. Success is Success.

Matt Rhule at Temple is in the middle of having success this year.

In 2015, he already beat PSU, he has Temple ranked and undefeated through 7 games.

He has a tough opponent next week against Notre Dame, he also has a tough opponent coming up against Memphis. He has the opportunity to win the conference and make a New Years Day Six Game. I wouldn't touch him at this point, but he has the opportunity to ACTUALLY do something special at Temple.

Misinterpreted your comments a bit, I agree with what you're saying.

I believe Miami was and still is a rebuilding project but we have different diffentions of rebuild. Miami needs to be rebuilt to the championship standard that Ohio state, Alabama, fsu and other programs have. You define that as taking it to the next level, semantics

You misunderstood. I think he assumed Al was hired to rebuild to the pre-Saban level. You know like 5 wins over TWO years. Al is on that road for that and given another year or two will achieve it.

"He" didn't assume anything. Comedian = fail.

Well, you need decent material to be funny. Al = Cancer - nothing funny about either but both will kill you.

Don't jump out the window, but they also want to build an on-campus 35,000 seat $100 million stadium...

Chairman Patrick O'Connor confirmed that a proposed 35,000-seat stadium with an estimated cost of $100 million is being pursued for the northwest corner of campus. He said the issue is expected to be discussed at the December trustees meeting. "We are moving forward and exploring every option," he said.

Temple is located in one of the worst areas of Philly. It is more than likely that the City of Philadelphia, and the State of Pennsylvania, will give them as much land as Temple needs. The state would probably build any roads necessary for access, and grant them plenty of urban renewal funds.

Just goes to show what a successful football program can do; not that our BOT cares.

"He won at Temple."

Can we go back and ammend the significance and accuracy of that statement now?
