8-4 would be remarkable considering we've allowed 143 points in our last 3 games.

These examples do provide a glimmer of hope. But did USC or A&M celebrate scoring plays and turnovers like wild injuns when they were down by 40? Culture and accountability remain major issues down here. The team showed some toughness last season with some hard-fought victories. There's a shot that we catch fire and make a run at the coastal, but it feels equally plausible that we'll go 7-5 with a couple bad breaks.
This would be fair if we didn't already have FIU, Duke, La Tech and the UNC abortion from last year.I cannot wait for the App State game so we can move on from the severe depression so many on this board have after Bama.
#1 Alabama 52 - #5 Texas A&M 24
#1 Alabama 52 - #3 Ohio State 24
You all need to completely realign with reality. If we play poorly against App State then by all means, have your meltdowns. But this week has been insufferable because all of you refuse to come to terms with the fact that Alabama is capable of destroying, not beating, but destroying literally any team in college football and that somehow means Miami should shut the program down.
There are 100 coaches that would be a major improvement.Ok I’ll give you that even though I don’t believe it. But will you admit that absolutely Bill Clarke would take a promotion to come here and so would Lule Fickell since they are both are at group of five programs? And will you also admit that both those coaches are miles and miles ahead of our coach manny and his lack of talent and knowledge of the game he’s pretending to coach?
You have to love the people who nicely ignore getting us the worse beat down at home by a team with less talent than according to the talent aggregators. And they just throw FIU and LA Tech away. Total amnesia cuz all we complain about is getting beat by BamaThis would be fair if we didn't already have FIU, Duke, La Tech and the UNC abortion from la tech
After App State? I know what my eyes see. I don’t need the App state game to show me more. I saw the same issues in the Alabama game that we saw in the UNC game last year or the UAB game. Nothing has been fixed. Last year the excuse was, “Covid…no off-season workouts…no continuity”!Why not wait and see how you feel after App st. They are the first test that we have a chance to pass. Alabama was too big, to well coached and too talented. Lets see how well we do. After this game some conclusions can be made
Was at the game..I didn’t see the players overly celebrate like that…would u rather them Quit playing and look like the 2015 Clemson game?..they did keep playing..I know that’s a eyeroll type reply..but when it comes to culture, that does matterThese examples do provide a glimmer of hope. I think the billboard guy ended up skipping off to Costa Rica for a vacation. The van driver was the backup plan. LolLove the idiots who say 6-7 or 5-7 yet when offered to make a bet with ridiculous odds favoring them they balk and show their ******
Then again same people could barely come up with $500 for a banner and some are still recovering donating to a billboard that turned into some random dude driving a van
Watch what unc does to us this year. This would be fair if we didn't already have FIU, Duke, La Tech and the UNC abortion from last year.
Silvera and Miller were wild'n out when we stripped Young and recovered a fumble with a subsequent turnover chain celebration, and Restrepo (of all people) took photos with the new TD rings when we scored late, so don't give me the babe in the woods routine. I brought up last year trying to be positive lol. We showed toughness in some road wins that will hopefully carry over. We should be 4-1 heading into a bye week before playing UNC. Should be.Let's see, I was at the game, Miami side, 8th row, sitting behind a player's family, and I saw no celebration of "scoring plays and turnovers like wild injuns when we were down by 40".
But you keep bringing up last year. Let it go.
Let's judge this year's team on this year's behavior.
Splitting hairs here but Richt did beat the WVA team in a bowl...An 8-4 record is unlikely to get Diaz fired.
We are an 8-4 program right now. We have an 8-4 infrastructure. The University itself, outside of a few areas of focus, is 8-4 (I feel ok saying that as a graduate).
Anything above that or slightly below is a "nice to have."
Their message is likely "be happy if/when we win 9 games and our first bowl victory since the advent of the internet. Progress."

You’re telling me that they would all win here and settings in college football are equal?Youre telling me miami couldn't get Cincinnati coach? Or coastal carolinas coach, or utahs coach, or Arizona states coach?
Probably 7-5. You’re right.He won’t get fired at 8-4 and we aren’t going 8-4.
Shelve the jewelry when we're being blown out. That's all I ask. Celebrating moments isn't uncommon but parading around with props makes us all look and feel like idiots, but that's our culture and I have to sit still and take it. Anyway, I like how the offense came out in the second half. **** shame we couldn't punch it in and allowed a 94 yard TD a couple minutes later. Would have been nice to enjoy a few seconds of momentum. Was at the game..I didn’t see the players overly celebrate like that…would u rather them Quit playing and look like the 2015 Clemson game?..they did keep playing..I know that’s a eyeroll type reply..but when it comes to culture, that does matter
I'll try this again.
Historically this is who we are. We had a run, roughly 20 or so years, but that's it.
Who was Jimmy before here?
Who was Erickson before here?
Butch?
Howard was easily our most accomplished coach on hire. The others, they hadn't hit it big time and were largely just cutting their teeth beforehand.
College football is about resources. The gap between us and the big powerhouse programs and even the state schools has never been wider. The pay the top coaches are getting these days compared to your normal coaches is growing as well.
Can we get back on top. My opinion is if we get the right up and comer coach one day, like we did before, we can make some good runs here and there. We won't see dominance like we did before and the problem is money. Alabama's dominance is what we did in college (don't care about the NFL) and up a floor or two. They have 6 in 11 years. We had 4 in 10 or 5 in 18.
Our recruiting area is out of this world. It doesn't mean much though if you want to get to the too, but can't land the elite recruits. It's the only reason we aren't a five hundred team on the regular. That and there's some allure to Miami and S FL. This NIL deal **** just made our job tougher to land the elite talent in our backyard. NIL will be a focus in recruiting and when schools point out what their guys are making and then ours, it's likely a wrap besides the odd recruit.
It all is what it is. We got spoiled there a bit. We rocked the college football landscape, changed the game, and then they caught up restoring the order that had been around for a century. We were the little renegade upstart that wasn't ever supposed to do what we did, but we sure as **** did.
Well this is a fan’s perspective..and I get it. But as a player coach or staffer at Miami..they shouldn’t give a **** about what Rok or 305to954 has to say or think about it..they need to keep playing and competing. What I don’t want to see is the players looking like they’ve quit..and from perspective that’s not what happened..but as I said, I get it as a fanShelve the jewelry when we're being blown out. I could be wrong but I'd wager that most Miami fans with dignity want the jewelry to go away altogether, but I'd settle for some self-awareness during blowouts. You can't hold anyone accountable when you allow players to celebrate with jewelry while they're getting slaughtered. It's a team sport. The chain was AWESOME in 2017 when we were 10-0 but let's not allow it to become a running joke.Cut the bullcrap. We were down 31, not 40, at the time of the fumble. The turnover chain is what we do. "Wild'n out", give me a ******* break.
But you're gonna keep yapping about last year. Celebrating with our turnover chain is not the same as dancing on the sidelines at random moments in the game.
