Had a lyft chat with a former 49ers coach who was down here interviewing for a job with the Fins. Most of the conversation revolved around the Dolphins, but he dropped a couple of tidbits on UM and Mario. Nothing earth shattering, but ...

--Mario is held in EXTREMELY high regard by NFL coaches and scouts.
--Unfortunately, not high enough for my Fins as he confirmed that Mario **** near begged the Dolphins to draft Herbert (smh).
--In his opinion, Gattis was a top 3 hire in all of College Football. He spoke highly of our OC and said Harbaugh absolutely held him back.
--Denzel Perryman was the best instinctual football player he ever attempted to recruit outside of Nick Bosa.
--Was on Redwine early, but said he was all UM from Day 1 even before we were really recruiting him hard.
--Confirmed that Al Golden was a clown. An "awkward douchebag" were his exact words. He was shocked he took the Miami job to begin with as he is as far away from a cultural fit as you can get. He opined that Golden planned to come here, elevate his profile, and win enough to walk right into the Penn State job. The Shapiro stuff threw a bit of a wrench into those plans.
--Estimated we were 3 seasons away from a NC with Mario.

And for my long suffering Fins fans --

--McDaniel is the goods. The Deebo Samuel packages were his brainchild.
--Of course when I brought up that the 49ers offense is ***, he correctly pointed out it's designed for efficiency. He said the Qb is going to take alot of hits in this scheme and that if Tua (likely) goes down, the backup Qb, whether it's Teddy or a 3rd stringer, can slide right in without missing a beat.
--Waddle and Hill will eat.
--He was higher on the squad than I was (and I'm a season ticket holder).

I always bet on coaches from the shanahan tree, 49ers/Kyle, Rams/Mcvay, Packers/Lafluer, Zac taylor/Bengals(not that high on him but yea lol).

So I think mcdaniels is gonna be really good for the dolphins, that offense is hella qb friendly and yall got a top 3 wr with other good weapons.

I'm hoping like h*ll that Gattis tidbit is true. If we can have a similar performing offense as last year but with a running game :sanford2:

Why do you think the 9ers offense is trash? It utilizes the run game well, confuses and causes defenses to be attentive with all of the motion, that confusion leads to easier windows for the QB to throw into.

This is the most talented Phins team in over 20 years plus there's not many weaknesses. The defense is top 10 and the offense plays to Tua's strengths. That should be 10-11 wins. Why were you down?

He’s right on about Golden. Guy’s plan was to come in here, put together some 8-4/9-3 seasons, and get picked up by Penn State. The guy was within a hair of making it all work, but Penn State backed out at the last minute.

Also, wouldn’t surprise me if Golden tried to make it work again. Being DC at Notre Dame, he’s waiting for Franklin’s eventual dismissal to take another stab at his dream job.

Thanks for sharing. I like that coaches view him in high regard. That means his kids are well coached and ready to perform, as opposed to raw athletes that need to be developed.

Admit it, you were the Lyft driver.

Just kidding.

So since the Fins are so frustrating, I pretty much have 4 other teams I follow closely. G-Men, Eagles, San Fran, and Da Raidas. Maybe *** was too harsh (but that's the word I used). They should've been playing in the Super Bowl last season if it was just even a little bit better. As for the Fins, I'm just not a Tua fan and I don't see us getting over the Buffalo hump anytime soon plus the schedule this year is not very friendly. I see 9 wins max.

You lost for following the Giants lol.

I think we finally get Buffalo in Week 3. The defense finally was able to figure him out in their second outing last year, our offense stalled. This offense is very favorable to Tua and I think you'll see a completely different QB than years past. Any given Sunday.

Might drop them and go back to the Titans tbh.
