So how does this QB situation play out?

I think it's pretty simple. If Rosier beats LSU he'll likely be the starter all year.

If we lose that game, chaos is upon us and CMR will be forced to show his hand. It won't be until THAT moment that we don't get the truth about who Richt likes better between Perry and JW. If he does like JW better than Perry ( right now ) he's not going to admit it unless Rosier falters, period. Admitting that earlier is basically the equivalent of signing Perry's transfer papers. It's not rocket science.

I for one am glad that LSU is the opening game, we'll get the truth (one way or the other) alot sooner this way.

IMO as many believe Rosier starts season if he struggles , which I think he will , Perry takes over . Williams redshirts . Weldon ends up transferring after next spring .

in terms of skill and ceiling?

1. Williams
2. Perry and weldon
3. Rosier

in terms of who will start and depth chart?

1. Rosier
2. Perry
3. Williams (still raw) and Weldon

Why would it matter if they transfer now or next year? The sooner they leave, the sooner we can use their scholarship on someone else. Give me the best guy right now and let the weak leave.

This is the definition of not understanding college football.

We have around 75 scholarship players. With guys leaving early, even if we sign a full class of 26 (max allowed) we'll still be around 75-78 next year.

Every transfer hurts, because we can't just replace those spots. I mean if it were up to half of CIS, we'd have 25 players on the roster (and then people would cry about depth).

I'd bet a lot of money 2/3 between Perry, Williams, and Weldon will be here next year. We're not going to be left with just 1. Even if it's Jarren, Weldon will probably stay, then go the Sherrifs route if he can't win the job.

Listen, I said IF they were to transfer. I'd prefer them to not transfer and stay and learn the system, pushing each other for 3-4 years. That is ideal. However, IF someone is going to transfer because they get passed as #2, then I'd prefer them to leave sooner rather than later.

Well, this is just like my opinion, man.

Rosier starts this year. Richt is conservative. I wouldn't do it but whatever. Rosier barring injury will be QB1 this year. This allows Mark to keep the 3 young guys in the barn.

By spring 2019 Jarren is QB1. I see him being really, really good. He might play 2 and dip to the league early. Perry will transfer but won't find success anywhere. Inaccuracy, bad mechanics, not learning playbook well enough mean that N'Kosi will be going pro in something other than sports.

Weldon is Alex Moran. I think he's down to be eating ***, banging chicks, smoking blunts and rocking QB2 or QB3 until graduation. Knowing his dad is tight with Richt I expect Weldon to stick it out and graduate from the U and be the world's chillest PE teacher and HS coach.

Yep I agree with this. That LSU game is going to be huge. If we win that game with Rosier he will more than likely keep his job for the rest of the season. If we lose things are going to get interesting. An I think Mark is going to start Perry considering the next few games are not tough opponents and Perry can get his feet wet.

Nah. We can win that game and Rosier can stink up the joint against any number of average teams along the way, losing the job. I don't think Rosier loses his job after week one unless he completely bombs. It's if he bombs in the middle of the season that I can see Richt putting Williams in. That gives him a lot more time in the system, and he should be good to go by then.

Don't know if Jarren will start vs LSU, but I expect him to have the offense in high gear at some point this year

I will be shocked if Williams is the starter against LSU. However, I will be more happy than shocked, but more nervous than happy. Basically, I will be a confused, yet happy nervous wreck.

Majority of our fan base just want anyone but Rosier at QB. It's just hard for me to imagine Richt going against the 5th year senior.
