So can anyone shed light on UGA's S&C Program

Felder didn't get there till 2014, so he didn't have anything to do with that 2012 team. Thomas arrived in March of 2012.
 
no one knows who s&c leader is its rumored the one georgia guy may end up headman thats it . all we know is 3 of georgias strength guys coming still leaves 2 spots on s& c staff.
 
John Thomas and the staff we're getting took over at UGA in March of 2012. So although this '12 game is a nice look at what UGA players have looked like under Richt, you'd probably have to credit the previous strength coach.
 
this staff may not have done the sec championship game for UGA but strength coaches work under direction of head coach(just like ppl upset about swassey being let go sadi). Richt made sure they were ready

definitely appreciate all the tape and info you bring to the board. But outside of pete's report(which he's been wrong on a few), how do we even know Ivey had any interest in coming here?

Love how posters on here think we could literally have anyone in the country and it's us "passing on them" when they don't come here.

Unless there's actually reports saying he wanted the job then I don't believe it. It's not like we got a sorry staff. UGA has been no pushover in S&C. Certainly better than Swassey

People actually thought we were gonna steal every top notch coach and had unlimited money. People deluded themselves and now they are disappointed at what to me seems like a solid staff.

This is Miami and because I love the team people have to think its the best job on earth. All they should care about is the weather, who cares what their families think or how rooted they are in other places. We won 5 championships. All it should take is a phone call and we should have whoever we want.

Negative. It's not 2000 anymore. We need the talent WITH the S&C now. Can't just win off talent alone anymore. Nobody is beating Bama that way , don't care how many south Florida studs we get.

Was drafted by the Redskins, started a few games but played really poorly. Had issues tackling and just couldn't adapt to the speed of the game.
Was cut, went to the Bills and had a really really good year in Ryan's Defense this year.

It's like you actually believe just because of a SC coach, he will put on 20lbs of muscle on everyone.

It's beyond delusion. In fact it speaks volumes on the education level of football fans.

Right because Shannon is just begging to come to Miami. Some of you need to realize not everybody thinks Miami is the best place in the world. Some people actually like the places that currently employee them. You guys just find a person and think "He should have hired him."

Watched some of it. If we look like that I got no complaints about the S&C hires. 2012 was the first year that the guys we just hired were at UGA so it's a good indication of what we may get.

I am probably looking and thinking too much into it but since S&C is the part I'm all about, I can't help but notice year in and year out Georgia has the type of defense we SHOULD have(eye test, not performance). Now mind you I don't sit and study them all the time just in passing notice how their linebackers, safeties and ends/tackles look. Tackles are always big and stout no surprise there. But it's the athletes on defense that have always stuck out to me. Long and lean, but strong and explosive. Reason I notice that is because it seems Miami is able and does recruit the same types of guys.

When Golden got here I thought his obsession about S&C was going to kill it. Take these types of kids, with the length and athleticism and just make them stronger without losing athleticism. We've had some guys here and there but just not consistently. Jermaine Grace is an example of one of these SEC type backers we have but unfortunately for him I think his real potential will be realized in the pros where he gets the best training.

I am very optimistic to be honest, but I was last time as well so....
 
Kirby Smart has hired Marshall's strength guy AND UCF's head guru in the weight room.
