Not sure why Mark Richt would want to stick around as his performance begins to deteriorate recruiting, at some point you have to realize if this goes south you have just injured your own alma mater. Just go retire and go preach the gospel and our BOT should give you a nice parting gift, simple!

There is not one scenario that I can see or imagine where Mark Richt reinvents himself, in the past 20 years he has had 1 single top 20 offense ranking, 1! We made fun of Mark D'onofrio for his ineptitude, which continnues to this day as University of Houston languishes as one of the worst defenses AGAIN, in the country, he was a joke of a coordinator, but he did not make $4MM a year either. Asking Richt to hire an Offensive Coordinator is like asking Donald Trump to hire a Political Correctness Coach, why would you trust Richt to find an OC when he runs an offense that borders on the Rockne era style?

Richt is the face of the franchise right now and he looks more like a deer in the headlights, if the BOT does not make a move here they are killing this program willfully. I like Mark Richt, he is a fine person but holy Christ nice guys can sometimes finish last, unless of course UNC is in the Coastal Division with you!

He ain't a true Cane or he wouldn't have hopped on to FSU right after leaving Miami. His disciple boobah bowden didn't care to punish players unless absolutely necessary because of heat from NCAA, that is one thing I wish Richt had learned from him. Oh and don't hire your kids. We got the senile Bowden running the show at Miami.

An AD with balls would offer him a nice package to reitre and step away instead of having to be fired. We all know Flake's wife has all the balls in that family so we will languish in mediocrity for another 2-3 years while nothing improves.

That's not the way it works and you know it. There's obviously a very sizable buy-out, not to mention you fire a guy like him with his pedigree(arguable, I know), this quick and you're never going to get another decent guy to come on board.

As I've said before Miami's fans opinion of themselves is a **** of a lot higher than most everyone else in CFB. Everyone looked at it as a serious rebuild that takes time.

We were mediocre for 15 years. We have now sunk in to being plain lousy. 4 bad coaches in a row and no hope for the next coach to be any better. Top coaches not coming here. We have become a burial ground for college coaches. Most elite high school players not interested in attending a dead program.

PLUS

The $$$ on CMR's contract will show anyone why our AD cannot pay CMR a reasonable buyout

AND have anything left over to hire a proven winner as our next coach

The parallel similarities has me crying.

Lol at leaving it up to anyone in UM hiring a proven winner. As long as that ACC money is coming in they dont give two shyts about winning.

Meanwhile recruits are bailing out every week....
This better end soon or it will take years to recover.

There are about 4 million reasons he ain't going anywhere.

This is the sad fact, Donna and paul Dee started us down this road to oblivion . starting with B.Davis contract
hiring Coker, Shannon , Golden and not investing in program when college football was undergoing a arms race.
we seem to be a step behind in all phases of running a program and despite talent base in S,Fla
continue to lose 4-5 * star players...........this did not start under CMR but i have little or no faith in AD/BOT to solve these issues.............

You said the same thing about golden!

We ate the remaining time on Golden's contract

Buying out CMR's contract is way too much for Miami to swallow.

Some fans forgot that Paying CMR what we paid him was unprecedented and a truly earth moving monetary event.(for Miami)

No way can we afford to buy CMR out AND get any kind of decent coach ....outside of a high school coach.

That's our reality
