Slap Fight About Paying Players

Jimbo literally sat down and thought to himself "if I take the a&m job, I'll have to play Saban and Bama every year. If I stay here, I'll have to play Richt and Miami. F- it, I'll take my chances with Bama."

10 years 75 million????

and players get paid nothing??? GTFOH

That's $7.5 million a year. Hmm. I seem to recall somebody posting on Tuesday that Jimbo was gone to Texas A&M for $7.5 mil a year. He got negged and had his thread shut down:

Yeah, I'm a little salty about it, but that's ok. Anyone who'd like to get on my new pm list for super secret insider info let me know. Lol. :chuncky:

Here you go... cookie.webp

College football provides zero value to the players outside of the coaching they get.

Are you that naive to think that a bachelors degree in “management” from any of these programs has ANY value in 2017? Do you think employers dont realize what football and bball players actually do? Look at UNC which is actually a good school, better than 90% of the major sports schools.

A “degree” for a football player who is essentially majoring in football is worthless.

Nobody gives a ****, shut up. Here is another neg for your continued pheggotry today.

Not untrue. But the talented skill players are hopelessly exploited. Cam was worth much more than 200k

The ones who you say are "exploited" become millionaires in short order.

Cam Newton had to endure 10 whole months (if that) of college at Auburn before he signed a $20 million contract.

Lol there is no NCAA without 100% of the players. Its like saying the only people in a movie that should get paid are the lead actors. No wonder you are so insecure about the perception of your degree.

There's no NCAA without the universities. The players are largely expendable. They come and go. Few of them with any value.

****, even NFL players learned this lesson the hard way during the 1987 strike.

The NCAA only exists bc it allows everyone to sell a product without having to pay for it. You are so naive it is laughable.

Are schools limiting the athletes to the course of study that is available to them now?
And is it limiting them to the amount of effort they put into their school work during non football activity hours?

LOL...if football & men's baskeball were their own entitities, you could pay those kids. But because the profit they make has to be spread out to the entire athletic dept. via funny accounting, they can't get paid. Last I saw, non-revenue sports at UM spend twice as much as they bring in, so guess who pays for it...that's nothing but welfare so some already well to do kid can hit a golf ball, or spike a volleyball.

The University of Miami football program has value.

Malik Rosier doesn't. Sheldrick Redwine doesn't. Bar Milo doesn't.

Any value that they may potentially have comes directly from wearing the most recognizable logo in college sports on their jersey. Once they remove it they have zero value again.

So outside of being tutored by million dollar teachers of the game for a potential million dollar career path.....there's zero value.

Gotcha.

As I already explained, [insert random player] inherits all of this value from the logo or brand that he has on his helmet. Once removed he has no value.

There you go moving the goalposts again. Like I said, football & mens basketball make money...the sports that have no value are the ones that don't make a profit...welfare.

Who's fault is that?

The player shouldn't major in football.

I've been on staffs with kids who have said that. He gets quickly pulled aside and told a valuable life lesson.

You would, instead, continue poisoning his mind with this indentured servant garbage.

Ok jagr, so if none of the players have value, why give them scholarships? Housing? Why not just pick 85 random kids and put the uniform on them? If ALL that matters is the uniform, then that should work out well, right?
