SJ

@TheOriginalCane says they read the board.

I know they see us comparing SJ to some of the WOAT OL we've had like Gaynor, Luis Cristobal (who, in fact, at 6ft 270lbs, was way better than both Gaynor and SJ) and some of those Manny special OLs... They know what to do..
Rather take my limps with Cantwell and sliding McCoy back inside at guard and figure out what to do at C and ALG, but SJ.... HE GOTTA GO RIDE THE PINE
Who is “they” exactly?
The staff reads the board and the blawgs

Can Buchanan play center?

Yes he can.

I was unpleasantly surprised when they basically handed the job over to Rodriguez in the Spring. I thought they’d let them compete thru the spring.

If it was me, I’d practice him there this week and give him 30-35 snaps in the game against CMU at Center.

Rodriguez is also a major problem. He becomes the next sore spot the minute that you pull SJ off the field.

I would go:

Okunlola
Cantwell
Buchanan
Congdon
McCoy

You have more inexperience inside, but way more physical talent.

Yup. Rodriguez is every bit the problem SJ is.

I understand Cantwell is a true freshman, but he was the number one offensive tackle recruit in the country. An elite physical specimen at 6 foot 8, 320 pounds. No doubt he would have growing pains, but he’s unplayable after enrolling early enough to participate in playoff practices? Starting left tackle throughout the spring and into fall camp?

And he plays terrible against FAMU?

I understand it’s three games into his career but seriously?

Something is wrong.

There is nothing wrong. A true freshman OL being good 3 games into his career is the EXCEPTION.

Mauigoa distorted reality with a lot of people.
