It’s “missed the eval” that gets under my skin. It’s become the overused buzz phrase for any player who doesn’t qualify as a first rounder by year two. It’s now a clichè.

To your comment, I’m with you and it’s why I groan-replied. It is 100% a process and a rebuild. We lost about 15 years of experience across four guys. Our last mental images of OL play at The U was a very seasoned group playing at an elite level and who mostly had played together as a unit for a few years. We now have Samson and McCoy as vets, with the interior a major mess.

Because OG and OT are entirely different positions, and had we just put Cantwell at OT to start the season, he'd already have 3 games of development under his belt.

This is pretty simple - it's not about Cantwell vs McCoy. It's about Cantwell vs SJ for the entire season. Which would be better for the teams long-term prospects? And then you ask is Cantwell better at Guard or Tackle - I believe we'd be better off with him at OT and just letting him learn on the job.

But now we wasted 3 games of potential development for Cantwell, just to prove the obvious - that SJ is a major liability which was always obviously going to be the case. This isn't complicated. He should have been forced into Center and competed with Rodriguez. He should have been getting all the 2nd team reps of Stanford/FAMU at Center. Period....

I actually like it as third down back.. Not to actually carry the ball but Lofton already pass blocks so it wont be much for him to learn from the rb position. and he can release and catch checkdowns and dumpoffs. Just need to protect the QB, I cant watch Mensah turn to a lemon when he uncomfortable again.. That was not good..
 
the o-line is a week to week deal for me. It's been good enough to win very game thus far so I'll just stick with that for now. You can only hope someone steps up by the time Miami plays clemson and espcially notre dame. Otherwise, the team will just have to overcome it's weakness and win despite that.

obviously the coached aren't the o-line guru's they were made out to be by this board

second half offensive trash performance had more to do with dawson than it did the o-line.

its always funny to watch people think that just because there's a board consensus on a topic then its true. Obviously not the case

next game is centrral michigan so i'll be waiting to see who starts on the o-line and how the game is called. Play the group that's going to help you win that game for that week.

Coaching malpractice if the coaches see this on film and don’t bench him moving forward. He’s been a turnstile against the two lower level P4 teams well will play. Absolutely atrocious play 🤮🤮🤮
 
I thought the whole point of the tight splits was to prevent penetration and negative yardage? There seems to be penetration on every other play
