I have no doubt what was plaguing Cantwell was on the mental side (side note, I think he's also too heavy but that's a separate issue). That has been bandied about quite a bit here.

But, it ain't gonna get better sitting on the bench. That's the point.

Like it or not, NIL has stripped away the "these are just kids/student-athletes".

These young men are paid professionals without the full maturity to handle all that comes with.

It will, and already has, changed the fan-athlete dynamic. I'm not sure for the better.

Friend, I believe most everyone wants to see SJ crush every block he makes.

So far that hasn't happened and there has been more than 1 near miss with Fletcher and Mensah paying a heavy price...along with the Canes Natty aspirations.

I don't like SJ because he continues to do the same exact thing he did at FB last year, which is run right by defenders and not block. Eventually the trend is too serious to play him

Who the **** cares if a guy goes to the NFL if he was cheeks here at Miami.

If a guy looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane at Miami - I don't want them.

You're doing, and going to do, the same **** with CJ Bailey. NC State fans don't give a **** if he's eventually going to be a 3rd string NFL guy b/c he sucks for them right now.

SJ looks like Jane and plays like Jane. Anyone with two eyes knew he was too small to play G and all we've done is stunt the growth of other guys having him take all the Spring/Fall/3 games of practice reps.

With that said, nobody should harass the kid on social media.

Who is rooting against McCoy? I’d like to on ow because McCoy gave my kid a set of gloves after the Cal game 2 years ago. It cemented my kid being a Cane lifer. Anyone on here rooting against McCoy can meet me in the Blue Lot.

Because it begs the question: why was he so inconsistent at Miami if he was an NFL talent?

Maybe it's coaching. But his DB coaches were stars in the coaching profession. Still are. Work ethic was never an issue, either.

I think he lost confidence. TRob said it directly- the only thing keeping Ivey from the NFL was his confidence. And a big reason he lost confidence is because he was a young man dealing with a toxic fanbase. It messed with his head.

I'm not even talking about the morality. They're adults, they get paid, whatever. I just want them to perform at their best when they're here. And stupid narratives only hurt the cause.
