Ivey was a bad football player at the University of Miami that was never debatable. I don't subscribe to any other line of thought. I don't have or use traditional social media outlets so this is moot. I will never understand the fake outrage over an optional life decision. I also don't support weirdos that seek attention online by reaching out to people they don't know for incendiary purposes. If you cant handle social media then you should delete social media.

That's fair but it's a metaphor of what the OL situation is now. He passed on some guys that had high NIL price tags (Kinsler, Seaton) in favor of the young guys, who didn't play a snap against WF while we clearly had struggles on the interior. Mario puts his chips in on the depth currently on the depth chart and so far it's proving to be problematic this year. Can those guys develop into players? Probably, but this year is the issue. If he didn't want to spend big money for an OL and the young kids were a bit too young, he should have looked at the portal for a less expensive piece. Maybe he did? But everything points to his (over)confidence of the young guys' readiness. If anything is going to change, it has to change in the CMU game. OL shuffling really needs to get in place first part of the year rather than game 10.

You bring up Seaton and say we passed on him, and many others here have said the same. Did we really pass on him though? I’m genuinely asking because I don’t recall him even visiting. From what I remember he went to LSU an Lane locked him in a room for four days and didn’t let him out until Seaton signed.

Yeah we were after him. Brought him in, he frequently was down here and even (IIRC) hung out with Francis due to their IMG connection. I'm sure Mario balked at the price tag but 1) we were losing 4 starters off a great OL, and 2) Mario had a good idea what he had in the OL room already.

My guess, I think Mario envisioned Cantwell taking those steps to become a starter (esp at that price tag) but that never materialized. The Congdon spring stuff was a bonus but I geniuinely think Mario had hoped guys like Ervin and Catnwell would get up to speed quicker than they have been. I think we have a great room beyond this year, to be clear - this year is the issue as it's a major transition year.

This is exactly where I'm at. I don't have/use that **** either. But I do know that it's overrun with trolls and bots.

None of this should have come as a surprise to him. His poor play is literally on tape for the world to see. He knows he's struggling. He knows fans are ****ed/crazy. Combine that with the bots and trolls and it's not hard to guess what the comment section would be like.

The comparison between 3 games in last year and this year. I think Wake is a good team. But this time last year we played ND and a good South Florida team. Beck really had it made as far as protection. Not the best receiving core except for Toney. I really hope they get this interior fixed asap.

I find it interesting why they feel they are better off with these five after Cantwell held down LT in the spring. I’d have Cantwell at RT and move McCoy inside. McCoy isn’t an OT at the next level and is no where as good at OT as Cici was. Take the lumps now so by November/December Cantwell has the experience needed to hold up. I don’t see SJ holding up against the big boy teams.

I trust that they see something and know far more than all of us.

No matter the case, this years OL is the ceiling of the team.

Then you have pairing at Center and RG between Rodriguez or SJ at center and Rodriguez, Buchanan, Congdon, and Meriweather at Guard.....

Ivey was below average here but still the best WE had.

For comparison sake Damari gets talked about like he's some stud athlete and NFL caliber player yet imo is worse than Ivey was, paired with being the most unreliable player on the team, and constantly threatening to portal. We should have let him walk this off-season tbh....

But I agree regarding social media point. A) the people going out of way to hop in peoples mentions specifically to **** talk are weird. But also if you're getting paid for this as a profession, don't have it downloaded if you can't handle the outside voices. If you're the type of person it bothers you, you better be the type of person like Baker where you just use it as your fire/motivation... But even if you're that type you can't use the outside noise as an ego boost or to get you high either....

d$ had tangwell on today. He said that Cantwell play is mostly him over thinking. Once the game slows down some, with reps, we should see a big improvement. The big question will be RT or RG. I have to assume RG with McCoy doing ok at RT.

We really have a ton of young potential on this team. Sparks, Woodrow, Cantwell, Pickett, Congdon, Maxx, Hawks, Ervin in 2-3 years is one **** of a line up.
