Doing a little math, approximately 20% of NFL first round picks were rated between 2-stars or lower, or roughly 1 in 5.

So is it fair to say the recruiting rankings are correct about 80% of the time; off the mark with about 20%?

Thoughts?

Star rankings are just for HS kids entering college. It has nothing to do with how they will get drafted or perform in the NFL 4-8 years after there scout or rivals rankings came out.

Four of the 32 were 5-star coming out of HS.

Regarding star rankings, at least one service, Rivals, mention likelihood of entering the NFL. And it is from Rivals where I am getting the info.

Rivals defines 2-star as: "Division I prospect; considered a mid-major prospect; deemed to have limited pro potential but definite Division I prospect; may be more of a role player."

Rivals is dumb. What does pro potential have to do with college projections?
