Since we know AG is locked in...

I would love to see what Mike Leach could do with a QB like Kaaya and all of the skill position talent in SFL.

Chud would be a good choice, but he's going to get the Niners OC job so I doubt he'll want to come back to college.

Justin Fuente is 17-20 in his career.

It really is incredible how most fans chose a coach based on his ethnicity or how cool he looks. Truly pathetic stuff.

I feel you, which is why I need to see another season from Fuente.

But check out what Memphis was before he got there ... And look how quickly, and significantly he turned them around.

He won more games there this season, than the program had won from 2010-2013.

Before he got there in 2012, they hadn't won more than 2 games since 2008. What he's done there, with minimal fan support and financial resources, is impressive. If he does well next season, he'll likely have his choice of jobs that come open.

But he's got to win, at least 10, again ...

Tom Herman is going to be a superstar.

Kevin Sumlin and Art Briles cut their teeth at Houston. So will Herman.

Fuente is Golden all over again.

No, he's not.

The AAC is better than the MAC.

Golden spent 5 years with Al Groh ... Fuente spent 5 years with Gary Patterson.

Fuente has already won a bowl game.

Now ... I'm not saying he's "can't miss" ... But, with another conference title, he'll be more credentialed than Golden was when he was hired.

We should broaden our horizons. Yeah, the world knows that Butch is the best there is (except for the dunderheads that run The Former U). But, we should consider all comers. For instance, Alaskan football is virtually unknown and an untapped source of coaching talent. Check this out:

The Alaska Football League announce the head and assistant coach and the first player signing for the Valley Steelers at Tailgaters Sports Bar in Wasilla. Daniel Moore was named head coach and Dustin G Hendricks was named as the assistant coach. Moore played his high school football at West High school. He has coached from the pop warner up to high school level. Moore is an AFL veteran and played for the Alaska Titans. Hendricks is also an AFL Veteran who played two seasons for the Alaska Titans from 2011 to 2012. In 2011 he was named rookie of the year. Hendricks was named to the All-AFL team both seasons. Hendricks played his college ball at Division II Minnesota Crookston and at Cabrillo College in California. Hendricks coaching background is also at West High school where in 2006 he was an assistant coach and in 2012 was head coach for the C team. The Valley Steelers also announce the signing of Tim Bailey. Bailey lives in Palmer, and played his high school football in Chicago, Illinois. The 5’10, 180 pound defensive back led the Colorado Springs Flames of the CFC to two championships in 2009 and 2011. “The Valley team is off to solid start with two AFL veterans as coaches and a quality signing to get the team started, I’m looking forward to seeing the Steelers come together”, stated AFL Owner Abe Hernandez. Both Moore and Hendricks are excited about the opportunity to bring the communities of Palmer and Wasilla a quality team that can be successful on the field and compete at a high level, while developing players from the Valley to the next level of the sport.

I'll bet we can get him cheap. That's what really counts! He might even be an Eskimo. Think of that stroke for political correctness.
