Sideline Tension Between Dawson and Mario

He wasn’t yelling at Mario, but he sure was ****ed at something. We got beat physically a lot yesterday. On that play, Brown had nowhere to go. This team is rarely ready to go after the first few weeks of the season, why is that?
Could it be our vaunted All World OL is a bit overrated. I was expecting at least a few truck-sized holes a game from this group. Even against a stacked box.

Most of Beck’s best passes this season were still late. His best passes to JoJo Trader (who they couldn’t cover) were all late (and short) including the drop that resulted in an INT.

They are gonna claim that Beck was injured or battling discomfort after the season is over. A QB that’s consistently late going thru progressions and throwing late is a shot QB. Finished mentally and relegated to backup duty if they’re lucky.

That stat about decreasing offensive production by month is a mic dropper.

It also kills the debate about talent being more important than coaching when they are both equally important. We have posters here who have 20,000 posts saying Talent is the begin all and end all, but how do you explain Novembers as a Miami Hurricane fan when we get into conference play against inferior talent player wise but superior coaches scheme wise.

Smarter coaches beat us if they have half the talent. And it’s consistent, not luck. It occurs every November once they have enough tape of us to study.

Put it like this it’s like a triangle that will surely hit the suck…

1.) talent
2.) dumb team (penalties etc..)
3.) coaching

You can’t have out of the three and not suck… if you have all three your in for historic suck

Offense has talent which keeps it afloat but dumb with penalties and poor coaching/identity issues. We have the talent to show up in flashes but shoot ourselves in the foot with pre snap penalties. Coaching is so **** bent on this caveman ball run ball identity it fails to use the talent on hand to put them in the best position to succeed.

Defense. They have talent and good coaching which is why their pretty good yet they still have dumb pre snap penalties which gets alleviated by a DC who is putting his most talented players in positions to suceeed. Amazing to see it work on one side of the ball

Plodding air raid offense is a frustrating watch.

Wanted this yr to be the yr that UM put all the pieces together. Fools gold is real.

Wanted to beileve that beck could reestablish himself as a 1 first rounder in already weak year for qb's but his play and it leadership is questionable.

Thought 11-1 or 10-2 is was possible but to guys that predicted 8-4 or 9-3 season yall got it .dont look fun looking down that gun barrel

Was mark fletcher hurt ? Fletch was getting 5 yards a pop.Why wasn't he running the ball in overtime? Brown had a easy walk in TD but missed the hole.

Later in the game, we lost that push, where the whole OLine participates, after the runner hits the hole. Brown didn’t get any help after hitting stone walls in the 4th.

Dawson gone.

We’ll go fully bro ball next year.

We'd do better playing sandlot football, letting the QB call the plays he sees for each down, and the ones he's confident with running.

Our linemen, shoulder to shoulder, packed in tight is the dumbest crapola time after time after time - I've ever seen!

Mirabel's FOS.

NO ONE can keep running into a wall - time and again - in ONE game - but we do it week after week after week.

That's brilliant!

Honestly, if our RB's would feint to the middle, hesitate and look to either the left or right - pivot and take off which side looks best - there's maybe one defensive player he's have to juke - because every other defender is in the middle - where we normally try to bash through.

The best runners don't just run to where the play is designed to go - they are aware - and dash where they can take off and go.

Do we not film games - and LEARN anything?

The Jojo drop was absolutely terrible and 100% on Jojo. He tried to arm catch it like a Massachusetts high school receiver.

Fletcher does even look up... he just peeks and bulls his way through..

How do we know Mario makes him call the plays he does....that sure looked like a "dude wtf was that play call" with Dawson trying to blame the back....
We don’t. I firmly believe Dawson calls what he wants. Mario most likely signs off on the game plan though. The position coach likely have drawn up some plays. It’s Dawson that wastes 10-12 plays a game with dumb ****.

Just because Mirabal draws up a 20 lineman play doesn’t mean bring it out on 3rd and 1 at mid field. Dawson is blowing too many drives with wasted plays. Scratch the ***n screens and goal line formations.

Let’s recap shall we:
2022 (Spring): Gattis Da Gawd, TVD Da Gawd
2022 (Season): Gatt-***

2023 (Spring): Dawson’s O is going to kill here, TVD Da Gawd is back.
2023 (1st 5 games): TVD Da Gawd is back
2023 (End the season): TVD is ***

2024 (Spring): This is most complete team
2024 (Season): Guidry Stinks, I hope Dawson doesn’t get a HC job next off season

2025 (Spring): It just feels different. We’re practicing w a purpose, Beck has full control of this offense.
2025 (Season): Dawson gotta go
You missed 2024: staff likes the secondary doesnt want to add anyone.

I wasn’t implying that it was Beck’s fault that Jojo dropped it. Just used it as an example of another late and short pass. It hit Jojo right in the hands and he should have caught it. Jojo repeatedly had to slow down to shield the defenders (using his back) from making a play on those passes from behind, because they were thrown short and didn’t lead him out in stride. He still has to catch it, no one would disagree with that.
