We are 188th in 3rd down defensively are giving up almost 500 yards a game. We are averaging 20.7 ppg.. oh and I forgot. We average 20 missed tackles per game.

We are reaching Donofrio levels of defense…. Again.

It’s gonna be tough to win any remaining game.
From your lips to God's ears

Unlike us they will come out ****ed and embarrassed of their loss and hammer us. We will use it as growing pains, rinse repeat.

What a frustrating time to be a Canes fan. The overwhelming majority wanted Diaz terminated after the UVA game. Instead, we’re left with the uncomfortable position of wanting our Canes to win games, next up UNC, but at the same time wanting losses to rid ourselves of our misery as it’s some guarantee that the UM brass will make the right decision in the next hire. For all we know, the next hire could be worse!

For what it’s worth, I watched all of the UNC game against the Noles. The Noles played their best game of the year. Jordan Travis still can’t throw but he ran all over UNC. The D kept the overrated Howell in check and controlled the game for the better part of 50 minutes... Just my .02 here.

I want nothing more than a win Saturday as I can’t bring myself to cheering on a Canes loss. That said, I’ll be one shocked and happy fan if we do pull out a W!!!

So no King or Garcia, both with surgery and out. Maybe Garcia has a chance to come back but no word on that.

None of this will matter if we can't get guys on the ground. I watched the A&M/Bama game and a few NFL games this weekend..... and one thing kept jumping out to me....you have to be able to finish the tackle. Our guys will make the hit, slide down...but then lose grip of the ankle. Our guys are in position to make plays, they just aren't finishing them, be it from INTs or missing tackles. I do think we need a new leader that does it a new way, maybe a bit more live tackling during practice, idk, shoot i'm just a former player current ref but certainly not a coach.

I know this, if we can get guys to the ground on contact 66% of the time, we can run the table and finish the reg season 9-3, going 8-1 in the ACC.

OMG! A Manny optimist. I didn’t think any were any left.

If I were you, depending on this result this weekend, get some bookie & get on that early betting action regarding the rest of the year before all the betting lines go up. Manny will turn this around once he beats his nemesis, Mack!

Prediction: Miami beats UNC & upsets NC State. At 4-3 Manny proclaims that we’ve turned the corner and Blake does major pro manny PR.

After that we get skull ****ed by Pitt, lose to GT, beat FSU, lose to VT, and barely beat a bad Duke team to go 6-6.
Then he’ll say” I’m playing without my qb and we have thirty starters out. The administration will be like “ guys , he’s playing with thirty starters out , that seems like a lot“.

UNC is not very good.

While everyone was sucking off Sam Howell, the reality is, he's pretty dece but not great and they had four pros at the skill spots with Javonte Williams, Michael Carter, Dyami Brown (all Sunday staples) and Dazz Newsome (a guy...a pro) and they don't have those types for Howell to just kind of distribute to.

Still...Sam Howell is enough to beat this Miami team. I believe this Miami team has quit and in the event they haven't, they are about to.

Can you say they really quit when they fought back against UVA?

The younger players give this a team while a guy like Hall, Ivey, Donaldson, Scaife, sure there are a few more are checked out

The fact Hall will be seeing the field again not only after embarrassing himself against Mkcj State but the two boneheaded plays thay he was lucky weren’t called against UVA says everything you need to know

You’ll know everything you need to know about this game in the first 5 minutes. History says we will come out tight and flat, short offensive drives that feature penalties and other unforced errors, while the defense can’t get off the field. This will allow UNC to jump out to a decent lead that progressively widens as our guys quit.

If I’m this staff and literally have nothing to lose, I make this game into a recruiting pitch. On offense, I’m running trick plays and featuring my young players almost exclusively. On defense, I’m playing blitz ball with man coverage and daring the QB to beat me knowing he’s gonna get hit on almost every down. If he beats me, I tip my cap, but I don’t play soft zone and die a slow, methodical death. If we lose it won’t be because we are not aggressive and it won’t be because our best players are on the bench.

But what the heck do I know.
