SIAP Roman keeping it real.

1-1 with a loss against Bama after two games and you people spend 7 days a week on message boards firing coaches after 8 months eating all the hype the media and insiders fed you.

Show up tomorrow and support the squad. If we are 1-2 or even 3-2 after 5 games then let’s revisit.

It isn't just a reaction to the 2 games that have taken place this season. This team has not looked as if it has improved as time goes on under Diaz. He had arguably the worst season in Miami history in year 1 given the talent and schedule. Last year the record was prettier, but the team was still not that great and King saved the day time and time again.

This year the team has looked as horribly coached as the other two years. There is nothing pointing towards Diaz being the one to figure it out, but there is ample evidence he and his staff are not it. What must be done eventually should be done immediately. Unless you're sure Diaz will save the day, his seat should be hot right now and any slip up should make it a real possibility he is let go.

I don't hate Diaz for taking the job. Why would he not take his dream job? I hate that he was offered it when he was and that it's clear he wasn't ready for it.

Example of the shxt LB play.

My problem with this play is not that Steed over ran the hole, it is that he didn’t just hit the hole and make a TFL.
**** stop being so afraid to make a mistake, and go for it. Stop playing it safe and hoping that a coach will praise you for the read even though you didn’t make the play. Don’t these guys want to attack? This play is such an easy example of a linebacker playing afraid. I honestly can’t understand how playing afraid in any sport is even fun much less successful.

As I continue to say “ changing the coach doesn’t matter unless you change the attitude of the program. I will say there is some people that care and are tired of watching what we’ve become.
Are those people incredibly rich with lots of disposable income?

There’s two BOT’s that want Mario badly , to the point they’ll put their money where their mouths are.
If things don’t work out with Manny but they do land the big fish out west, do you think most of the guys from last year’s class stick around or go into the portal? Not that this should guide any decision, but more a curiosity.

Most of us are in "believe it when we see it" mode. It took a crushing win by Clemson to push Golden out midseason. And we've gone cheap on every single hire except Richt, who gave $1M of it back to help get the IPF project going.

If the BoT and a few angels are willing to capitalize this team with a Top 10 staff, they should do it before the wheels fully come off and we lose an entire recruiting season. They should decide on a trigger -- e.g., one more embarrassing loss or three more total losses -- and just pull the trigger the moment that threshold is crossed.

In fact, they should have a untraceable neutral party / expert talking to targeted coaches RIGHT NOW on the down low. The short list of names should be known at this point given it should be someone with demonstrated success as a P5 HC and recruiter of Top 10 talent. Not too many of those names out there.

There's no doubt the team is mediocre putting out a poor quality product. But there are good raw materials there, some of these kids can/could play with the right management. The operation is where the main point of failure is.
Nothing cheap about paying $4m to buy out the DC that was in your building the week before.

Blake James HAS to go with Diaz - there's simply no way of justifying that.

Roman is keeping it real because the film doesn’t lie , I’m no expert but I do know a lot more than an average fan about x’s / o’s and that’s why I‘ve had my panties in a bunch. People want to blame this guy , or this group and then defend another guy. Fact is they’ve all been awful , from the staff down. This goes back to last year , it’s just bad.

I posted other day Manny is coaching for his career this year , I‘ve also been talking up a certain coach elsewhere. Roman mentions both.

Manny is in hot water with a some people that you don’t want to be in hot water with at Miami. I’ll repeat what I said other day “ if this goes off the rails they’ll pull the plug during the season“. So when I mention the importance of this game i‘m not over selling it.

What we’ve seen here on his watch is unacceptable , theres no excuse for getting out coached most weeks.

Cribby, I think he's actually coaching for his UM life tomorrow at high noon

Film doesn't lie, With this I'll agree and also that Roman IS keeping it real. However, like most people he's leaning on recruiting/talent while ignoring the disadvantage Miami is at because of the ncaa and its bias toward the program. Then he mentions a new coach. But like I keep asking who wants this job KNOWING the crap they're going to have to deal with. Mario ain't coming, he was here and left. It's ironic how many agree this aint the 2001 Canes and aint been since yet throw **** at the architect of those 2001 Canes and howled like horny wolves at the very mention of his return.
There are so many varying points here it is almost hard to keep track of. For starters, what does the NCAA letting Bama, Georgia and Clemson run wild with how we look against App state? Further, we all know this team is a ways off from beating Bama, but what does that have to do with the first point or Butch coming back when the only school that would hire him was FIU? And even moreso, what does Cristobal leaving as an OL coach to go from Golden to Saban and a huge pay increase matter with what he would do running the program himself? You hit quite the trifecta here.

Blake James picked Manny. I'm no insider but my understanding is at least one BOT member was going to front the money for Cristobal's buyout, there was a sizeable faction that backed the move, Cristobal was interested, and they were going to start talking salary; but there was another faction (the Diaz Sr. political superfriends) that wanted Diaz and James pulled the trigger as fast he could before the Cristobal talks could get any traction. I don't know how angry Mario should be when the guy who screwed him (James) is going to pay for that mistake with his job. I'd accept that as consolation (plus a big raise).

we had a 'national search' that went no further than Temple (really Hecht Center). I still remember a lot of us being excited for about 10 hours just thinking about the possibilities. LOL. We were all dumb

Why would Mario Cristobal come here? He can dominate west coast recruiting & get his fair share of nat’l recruits as well as have endless funds. He can win bigger at Oregon than here. Hurts to say but it’s reality.

It’s one thing to play well and lose. It’s another to look like you can’t even line up and barely beat App state. Lose to Fiu, go down 21-0 in bowl game etc. it’s the body of work that has us all thinking ahead.

No one wants Miami to lose any Manny to get fired. We all want him to dominate and succeed but we are realist and see with our own eyes what’s up.

Let’s see how the next couple weeks go and hope for the best.
