SIAP Roman keeping it real.

Three years ago it would’ve happened and been a lot cheaper. But he’ll get the first call and they’ll make him turn the job down then go from there. There’s a lot of alums , former players and one Bot member that wants him here.
i think we all know the bot member in question, it has been mentioned here in the past few days

Mario would be an amazing but no chance he leaves Oregon he’s built them into something close to being elite there

You really think they'd be willing to put up that kind of money if they didn't have some indication of mutual interest?

Miami is the job he coveted. Mario isn't going to take the usc job because he'd just be going from one school he has no real attachment with to another school on the west coast where he has no personal connection. If Miami pays him (no hometown discount) I think he'd be very interested. That being said, I say take that 10-12 million buyout that would be going into Oregons pocket and give it to Lane Kiffin to buy an elite staff plus a bunch of 5 star recruits for the next couple of years.

I’m just being real.
Only way he gets fired mid year would be a loss this week & a loss to ***** holes. Otherwise not likely he gets fired at all. Still has strawley & Blake in his pocket. That means frenk too

Film doesn't lie, With this I'll agree and also that Roman IS keeping it real. However, like most people he's leaning on recruiting/talent while ignoring the disadvantage Miami is at because of the ncaa and its bias toward the program. Then he mentions a new coach. But like I keep asking who wants this job KNOWING the crap they're going to have to deal with. Mario ain't coming, he was here and left. It's ironic how many agree this aint the 2001 Canes and aint been since yet throw **** at the architect of those 2001 Canes and howled like horny wolves at the very mention of his return.

I understand it, I agree with it. But dammit I'm so tired of the endless "hire coach x, coach x underperforms, fire coach x in year 3/4, repeat until dead" cycle we've been stuck in since Larry freaking Coker. This job has become the football equivalent of turning it off and back on again and hoping the problem fixes itself.
This is where I am as well. I don’t want to fire Manny and hire a coach who’s going to do the same crap as him. I want Manny to do well, because it means the team is doing well. But I realize he ain’t it. We need a home run hire. It’s about time **** it!

I've said it elsewhere. But if we really do bounce back and play well against MSU, any reasonable person should not get too excited and think our problems are solved.

MSU is no better than anyone we play in the coastal, and we should be beating these mid-tier P5 teams by 2+ TDs every game. Now, string together several of those games, with only 1-2 more losses, and Manny deserves another year to get it right. But again, a win vs. MSU by itself tells us nothing.

Roman is keeping it real because the film doesn’t lie , I’m no expert but I do know a lot more than an average fan about x’s / o’s and that’s why I‘ve had my panties in a bunch. People want to blame this guy , or this group and then defend another guy. Fact is they’ve all been awful , from the staff down. This goes back to last year , it’s just bad.

I posted other day Manny is coaching for his career this year , I‘ve also been talking up a certain coach elsewhere. Roman mentions both.

Manny is in hot water with a some people that you don’t want to be in hot water with at Miami. I’ll repeat what I said other day “ if this goes off the rails they’ll pull the plug during the season“. So when I mention the importance of this game i‘m not over selling it.

What we’ve seen here on his watch is unacceptable , theres no excuse for getting out coached most weeks.
That my problem man. We as fans can already see the writing on the wall. Wish the admin would just rip off the bandaid.

Did you actually watch the video? If you did, then you must think Roman is a liar?
I watched the video. Very insightful but I don't think he knows what Blake is thinking. Blake loves Manny. It's his hire who he choose without a search and without an interview. If Miami would have lost it would have been Manny's third G5 loss in 2+ years. Pretty easy to sit there and say Miami might be looking for a new coach soon if that would have happened. Guaranteed there would have been a banner flying this weekend.

The attachment is there but Miami pick manny over him correct? I would feel like that ****ed him off to the point he wouldn’t come back. I am probably completely wrong but I’m just saying

Very insightful but I don't think he knows what Blake is thinking.

What Blake James is thinking is irrelevant. James didn't want to fire Al Golden after the 58-0 loss but the BOT gave him an ultimatum (hence he went from "we'll re-evaluate at the end of the season" to termination within two days). If the BOT decides it wants Diaz out, James is almost certainly out as well. So it's not a decision he'll have to make.

So sad 😞
If this is our reality then a change needs to be made at the end of the year, if not sooner. Manny has had 6 years in this program. He bet on himself and his OC.

Blake James picked Manny. I'm no insider but my understanding is at least one BOT member was going to front the money for Cristobal's buyout, there was a sizeable faction that backed the move, Cristobal was interested, and they were going to start talking salary; but there was another faction (the Diaz Sr. political superfriends) that wanted Diaz and James pulled the trigger as fast he could before the Cristobal talks could get any traction. I don't know how angry Mario should be when the guy who screwed him (James) is going to pay for that mistake with his job. I'd accept that as consolation (plus a big raise).

His contract expires next year so if he doesn’t get an extension next year, he’s dead man walking.

And what I’ve seen from the recruiting class for 2023, we aren’t in play at this time for many of the top 100. I know it’s early, but only one person I know can clean that up from a recruiting perspective.
Mario's agent is about to get him a huge raise just by bluffing about the USC job. He is going to get extended.

I’ve always been told Blake is out with Manny if he’s let go. Maybe that changes but i don’t see how he survives. He’s ****ed off important folks as well. If we were to lose Saturday he’s officially on the hot seat. Its possible he goes on a run and everything is fine , but it’ll be a very uncomfortable ride.
This right here actually gives me some hope-ium

With rumors of someone on the BOT ready to pay Mario’s buyout theres 0 chance the search makes it past him.

If it did I would be really disappointed if it made it past Kiffin.

There’s some decent candidates out there but those are the only 2 realistic candidates I can see that are alpha enough to fit here and win here. Firing Manny to hire Fickell or Schiano isn’t gonna make anyone happy. Even Allen at Indiana is meh to me.
Love those two names... What about what Coward said about an NFL coach?

nope beat MSU and win the rest of the games thats a start then clemson

If we lose by more than a score Saturday we need to stop the bleeding and cut the chord. Recruiting and team morale could possibly be saved if we do sooner then later.
