SIAP Roman keeping it real.

I understand it, I agree with it. But dammit I'm so tired of the endless "hire coach x, coach x underperforms, fire coach x in year 3/4, repeat until dead" cycle we've been stuck in since Larry freaking Coker. This job has become the football equivalent of turning it off and back on again and hoping the problem fixes itself.

don’t see that anyone involved with the program had that kind of pull. If they did I feel manny wouldn’t have been hired to begin with.

Diazs father was the mayor of Miami. You don't think he's got friends on the BOT who backed Blake James decision to go all-in for Diaz? S Fl politics are basically like what you would see in a third world country, with all the cronyism and nepotism that goes with it.

As I continue to say “ changing the coach doesn’t matter unless you change the attitude of the program. I will say there is some people that care and are tired of watching what we’ve become.

I’ve always been told Blake is out with Manny if he’s let go. Maybe that changes but i don’t see how he survives. He’s ****ed off important folks as well. If we were to lose Saturday he’s officially on the hot seat. Its possible he goes on a run and everything is fine , but it’ll be a very uncomfortable ride.
Football is obviously the bell cow, but there’s plenty of evidence in other underperforming sports - baseball, basketball for instance - that would help justify Blake being removed.

Well he’s not getting ripped in here (yet) for saying 8-4 so I guess that’s a positive. Maybe some of you just needed to see some film to realize what a handful of saw before the season started.

When you kill a snake, you have to chop its head off. Blake = no bueno, Strawley - no no bueno. Frenk = no no no bueno. As you stated, everything starts on top. Give me Derrick Gragg or Bernard Muir who have run private institutions efficiently.

I mean being 1-3 in the last 4 games and all those losses are to P5 opponents should raise some eyebrows and **** people off that should be paying attention. 1 of those losses in historic fashion to a basketball school. It all still looks the same. The team plays uninspired football and seems to not take getting run over or run by or blown up personally enough. I'm not the biggest Mario fan on the planet, he's done some good things, but I know for a fact this non chalant crap while getting walked up and down the field wouldn't fly.

UNC last year was rock bottom. His Clemson game for me. His first year FIU was truly bottom of the barrel type stuff but it was year 1 so we knew it wasn’t gonna change anything.
expecting Mandy to magically become a championship coach is like expecting Rosie O'Donnell to magically become Miss Universe !

IT AINT HAPPENING ...... EVER !

Roman is keeping it real because the film doesn’t lie , I’m no expert but I do know a lot more than an average fan about x’s / o’s and that’s why I‘ve had my panties in a bunch. People want to blame this guy , or this group and then defend another guy. Fact is they’ve all been awful , from the staff down. This goes back to last year , it’s just bad.

I posted other day Manny is coaching for his career this year , I‘ve also been talking up a certain coach elsewhere. Roman mentions both.

Manny is in hot water with a some people that you don’t want to be in hot water with at Miami. I’ll repeat what I said other day “ if this goes off the rails they’ll pull the plug during the season“. So when I mention the importance of this game i‘m not over selling it.

What we’ve seen here on his watch is unacceptable , theres no excuse for getting out coached most weeks.
Cribby - I probably missed whom you were referring to so I’ll give some options & if you don’t want to give odds, it’s all good. I remember Mario. So from the choices below, who might have the best odds at the job:

1) Mario
2) Fickel
3) Schiano
4) Kiffin
5) Other

How real is the possibility of getting that certain coach elsewhere here?

Blake and Manny are absolutely attached. Cribby is correct there.

Also, I remember two years ago after Manny's first season. There was one BOT member that was willing to entirely pay off Mario's buyout herself. And willing to go in big time as to his salary.

So I do know that at least one BOT member is willing to front big time cash to get Mario here.

With rumors of someone on the BOT ready to pay Mario’s buyout theres 0 chance the search makes it past him.

If it did I would be really disappointed if it made it past Kiffin.

There’s some decent candidates out there but those are the only 2 realistic candidates I can see that are alpha enough to fit here and win here. Firing Manny to hire Fickell or Schiano isn’t gonna make anyone happy. Even Allen at Indiana is meh to me.
