Sorry to anyone who thinks Ronnie Lott was a better safety than Ed. Lott was a big time hitter no doubt but he wasn’t great in coverage like Ed. Running backs and receivers were worried about Lott. Receivers and Quarterbacks were concerned about where Reed was at all times. This isn’t even close to me and I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. Btw Ed could knock you on your *** too!

Lott did more than just hit! But I get it. Recency bias clouds judgement. Reed could absolutely play in this era. He’d prob be more of SS type than FS

I like lists like this because it pretty much guarantees that Hester should get in 2nd ballot. If your considered the greatest to ever play your position, your basically a 1st ballot HOF. No questions asked. Because he is a ST guy, no way he should go past 2nd ballot. (even though he should have been 1st ballot)

Revis had a huge vertical too. Only Moss could got the best of him in his prime and he had to work for it.

Deion wasn't physical and wasn't tackling nobody. but you weren't testing his side of the field.

This is true and I always forget to think about this. If they took it more serious and had the training yes it would possibly make a huge difference. But I'm going based off film and play of what they look like. That's all I can go by but your point is huge (pause) I respect that.
