ya know what would be awesome? Knock down the roach infested properties immediately south of Marlins stadium and build the soccer stadium with a little room around it for possible expansion. And, you get the view back too.

I know it's never going to happen. Just thinking what I'd like to see happen.

Reality is even if we could get an on campus stadium through cgcc, it would be wedged in the campus somewhere with no view of the Miami skyline either. 30k seats shouldn't be very tall so there should be room for an upper deck.

I know that the OB was expanded several times over its lifetime. Every expansion used more space around the stadium. This is best illustrated by Miami Field's shrinking outfield, which made it pretty much unusable except for high schools by 1950.

Boston College or Georgia Tech would be good examples of squeezing 45-50k seats in a tight space. Also if you look at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, there are field level boxes which could be covered with temp stands to get the fans closer to the field for additional seating.

I'm a little surprised they would want a site that was so tight. I've been to Toyota Stadium in Frisco and it looks they designed it with expansion in mind.
 
^^ I agree, that space being as small as it is, expansion will be difficult. BUT, I do believe they can add the additional 10k the Hurricanes would need. It would be a very tight squeeze but it would be just enough.
