SIAP, Barry Jackson on Haselwood "insulting video tape"

Nothing that kid said was wrong and we deserved those comments. We were a **** show under Mark Richt...plain and simple.

We're under new management now so let's worry about the NEXT Haselwood that comes along.....by winning some games and improving the outside perception of our program. Winning has been the #1 recruiter in the nation for the last 50 years.

You do realize that Haselwood wanted to play for that **** show. Once Richt and Dugans were gone is when he bounced and picked somebody else.

I’m calling BS on that. Kid didn’t want to play for pricht. Pricht scared him away

Is the kid right? Yes. Should Diaz still show the video to his team to get them motivated? **** yes. Bulletin board material never hurt anybody.

If the kid was truly a Cane at heart, think Duke Johnson, he would have seen the deficiencies he spoke of as opportunities to come in and be a leader and turn the program around.

His observations may be valid, but him becoming a Cane was almost less than zero.
I feel the same with Stevenson.

Well if getting rid of those ****** coaches meant losing Haselwood....I'd make that trade 5,313,381 times out of 5,313,381 opportunities.

The issue here is winning and outside perception. What drives winning and outside perception are competent coaches. We simply aren't in a position right now to be playing "what if" over losing some recruits when the bigger problem needed to be addressed. Collateral damage.

Totally agree but were acting like Haselwood chose OU over Richt which isn't the case. He left Miami cause Richt stepped down and probably more likely Dugans got fired. Haselwood and his Mom speak very highly of Dugans in the interview.

That according to Haselwood in this interview. Seems like he had a great relationship with Dugans. Did he commit to OU before Richt stepped down or after?

I know what he said...but I don't buy that part.

Bottom line, if we had won 9 or 10 games and looked good in our bowl game he'd probably be in a Canes uniform given how attractive our depth chart looks for someone that wants to play early.

I've said this about a million times on this board and I'll go to my death bed saying it.....nobody recruits better than winning. Kids at that age are all fickle and bandwagon fans and want to go somewhere they perceive will give them the best intersection of exposure and success.

Hazelnuts played the bag game perfectly. Probably as good as we've ever seen it. Maximized his value right up to the end and then Oklahoma had to pump some more oil to buy him. Those of you who think he was really torn on this decision are naive. He not only played Miami, he got paid, then made a video pretending like it was Miami's fault that he took Oklahoma's bags, and now posters on this board are eating it up, and saying "he's just telling it like it is."

Bravo Hazelnuts, you spurned Miami, publicly crapped on the team, and now posters here want to throw you a tickertape parade. Take notes, recruits- that's how you get it done.

Agreed and bottom line is that truth hurts. Also, under Richt, Miami was a bad product, unattractive in so many ways. I dont blame blue chippers from choosing other programs

Now with Diaz, well, I sense a new energy and direction. Time to move onward and upward with Manolo...

You don’t know what your talking about and must not follow recruiting. The kid made his mind up on early signing day which was before Richt left.

I'm only going by what he's saying. He may not be telling the truth who knows. He didn't pick Georgia cause they were fake to him. Btw they won a bunch of games. I wish him luck but I rather have kids who wanna play for Miami and not worry about losing to Duke

Richt needed be out of here with Hasselwood or without. The fact that Manny had to offer a 4 star Offensive Lineman for next year that wants to come here says it all about Richt Off the Field. If Miami and Manny can identify the Quality players that genuinely want to come to Miami and recruit the ones on the fence, We'll be fine. Forget these Fair Weather Recruits... probably threat to transfer if they aren't happy with there Snaps and Targets

I did ask if he committed to OU before Richt resigned or after lol so no I don't follow recruiting

Kid was speaking the truth. What really hurts is that his family was sold on Miami. Without the implosion last year, Haselwood would be a Cane.

I hope Manny gets things done because this **** can never happen again.

Lol at any of you defending players that absolutely threw in the towel and played like it. Yes the coaching was terrible and culture was soft as **** but these players are young adults not pop Warner. Everyone from top down has to own their role in the fecal display we saw all year. Man up and at least fight for pride and the U on that helmet. Hasselboard was 100% correct in his observations and his sharing is appreciated. The current players do need to see the perception as motivation and move forward. Better days ahead I hope

He complained about the lack of stability because Richt left. Since then Manny Diaz has made the right moves to change the culture of the team. If he really liked Miami he could have held off his commitment to see what direction the program would take. He still has two more weeks before he had to commit. What was the rush? You don't think Enos as OC, with the potential of Hurts as QB in 2019, Martell in 2020, and Jeff Thomas as the WR on his opposite side isn't a culture change or commitment to winning? Give it a rest. He decided a long time before he didn't want to go to Miami, now 90% of the board want to suck his hazelnuts because he also disrespected the program. It's embarrassing.

Why the fvck a player like Haselwood would be looking at what Miami has done in the last 2 weeks and think “Wow how impressive?”

I understand us fans being hyped, I am too, but we are getting hyped on transactions, Miami hasn’t played a single game yet.

He can’t get caught up in the hype, his future in on the line. Also 3 out 4 of your bullet points in favor of Miami are wild and show how unstable this program really is right now.

Hurts, not in the program right now, showed promise and growth last year, but in limited capacity and with a way more talented offense.

JT4 is not even on the team right now and even if he’s back, he’s unreliable.

Martell, again not in the program, and the few flashes he’s showed were in a better, more talented offense.
