Frenk, Rad and Mario are very well respected. Frenk helped shaped the ACC covid protocols, Rad might literally be the most respected AD in the conference, and Mario is a real alpha dude, though the coach would communicate to his AD what his wishes were so that one doesn't really matter IMO.

The University of Miami will continue to study possible affiliation with the Big East and Atlantic Coast conferences, and has eliminated the Southeastern Conference and Metro Conference from consideration, school president Edward Foote said today.

I have no confidence we’ll be involved in anything, but we’re positioned better now than we’ve ever been to navigate such things.

A&M didn’t want Texas to join, just look what happened. UFail would try to block us but they would fail.

I love the Canes as much as anyone. But do you really think Miami brings the $$$, alumni base, and brand that Texas brings? Texas and Miami have both been
"eh" for the past 15 years, but Texas is the flagship school in the biggest college football state in the country. Miami is at best the #3 school in Florida as far as fan base is concerned.

Miami needs to just plain win at this point. They need to get back to being an annual top 10 team and then they can start throwing their weight around. The next 5 years will be interesting as far as the future of college football with the rise of NIL, transfer portal, and the lack of a strong central authority guiding its members.

It will be interesting to see which happens first: does ND decide to join the ACC as its NBC contract earnings get farther and farther behind the SEC and Big 10 or does the SEC expand again? Whatever the situation, let's just hope Mario gets the Canes back to their former dominant ways so the Canes will be able to go where it needs to go to stay competitive.

Add in Jim Phillips as new ACC commissioner. I think the Canes will definitely fare better than in the past
