Show Your Work or STFU: A UM Conference Poll

When the dust settles on conference realignment, how does it end for UM?

  • UM to the B1G... SOON (on or before 12/31/2027)

  • UM to the B1G... EVENTUALLY (on or after 1/1/2028)

  • UM to the SEC... SOON (on or before 12/31/2027)

  • UM to the SEC... EVENTUALLY (on or after 1/1/2028)

  • UM to go Independent... SOON (on or before 12/31/2027)

  • UM to go Independent... EVENTUALLY (on or after 1/1/2028)

  • UM stays in the ACC (at least through the current contract)

Results are only viewable after voting.
Is this poll a prediction or what we prefer?

If its a prediction id say big10, if it’s what i prefer id say sec…Overall im for wherever the most money and spotlight is, but for football fan purposes only i think the sec is a much smoother transition because of recruiting and travel

But i also think we would spank alot of those big10 teams lol, we would be a tier1 team in either conference but we immediately are top3 with osu /indiana easily.

How does it end.
Not how do you want it to end.

Should the University of Miami's decision-makers take into account what's preferable/most convenient for the vast majority of UM's players and their families or what's preferable/most convenient for a quite a few alumni?

Pretty safe bet which option Mario would choose

The president just stated that a week at #1 is worth more than almost anything else.

Alumni be damned.

For purely selfish reasons, I’d prefer playing Big10 opponents because there’s way better road trip opportunities. There’s very few SEC cities I’d care to visit.

But realistically, whatever puts us in the best position to make the most money and win the most championships

That seems like a smart way for President Echevarria, Coach Cristobal, the Board of Trustees, influential boosters, staff, alumni, students and fans to view this pivotal decision: Do what's best to keep football and athletics both successful and financially sustainable.

"Keep the main thing the main thing"

Well technically the Big East did not crown an official champion until 1993 when full league play began.
But Miami honored the patch and claimed 3 independent Championship..

Miami didn't "honor the patch". You can't represent a conference by playing TWO previously-scheduled games.

That was just bull**** ***** talk by a newly-formed football conference. Miami would have been an undefeated national champion with or without that ugly meaningless patch.

You sound a little upset come down my friend calm down. That’s the way it’s in the recordbook so take it up with them. And second, I didn’t mention anything about them not being able to win the national championship with or without the patch or being in the big east. But anyways, here’s the information.

This is from the official page of the University of Miami.

To many teams. Take out BYU, Okie State, Kansas, Colorado. forget about ND they aren’t going to anywhere. And both Texas teams.
Actually, never mind it’s just the ACC if you do that

Go big or go home!
It’s the TV markets that would get ESPN’s support from the ACC and rival the SEC and Big10.

I’m hedging my bets that OSU and Michigan won’t want a few of us in the Big10 and UF won’t want us in the SEC.

If a package deal of UM, FSU, Clemson and UNC left the ACC, there aren’t enough powerhouses left to form a third conference out of the ACC and Big12.

It’s the most difficult play, (a new conference), but it’s where ESPN would see the money.

Also consolidates travel and inherent rivalries.

Assuming the dates mean announce, I'll say B1G before the end of next year. Our president just started the countdown.
