Shout out to Tyrique

The gets beat deep often is a false narrative. He‘s been beat deep a handful of times in two years. But when that happens it’s cool for people to come out and pile on. But they’re nowhere to be found when he has shut outs. Which he’s done a lot more than he’s been beat deep. If it’s not perfection here you’re a bum, even though every college and pro cb gets beat.

His biggest issue is he’s too aggressive and he’s susceptible to double moves and his technique can get a little sloppy.
I agree people pile on, but receivers get behind him more than I’d like to see them do it. Watching the games, you can see it.

Now luckily he’s talented enough against the opponents we play to catch up or make a play on the ball a decent amount, but receivers definitely get behind him a good amount.

I’m one of the more objective observers you’ll find, and while I’ve already stated I’m very thankful to have him as he is a good college corner and our best by a long shot, it is my opinion he’d be better served in a SS/big nickel type role.

My 2 cents.

He never should’ve been back there. I said that last year. Brashard , JG or X. TS is not a natural catcher and that matters on punts.
i was against it without ever seeing him field 1 - he's too valuable to the team at CB to risk losing to any potential injury on returns

He’s built for the next level and scouts love how multi talented he is. He’s the perfect Swiss Army knife for the new nfl. He’s been playing cb in collage at 205-218 pounds while being a shade under 6’2. He’s physical enough to play around the box , skilled and athletic enough to play in the backend. He can literally play 3-4 positions. There’s not many guys with his athletic ability , speed and coverage but isn’t afraid to mix it up.
Agree, could see him being utilized at the next level much like New England uses Kyle Dugger

Similar frames and athletic profiles

He made two game winning plays against UVA. One when ran the ball carrier down and it saved seven points . Then at end of the game on the fade. Which was an unbelievable play beens he bit on the step inside selling the slant then recovered on a perfect ball , stripping it out going to the ground. There’ll be a lot of crow eating on here one day.
He’s a fourth year senior so he could comeback but I’m guessing he’s had enough and will leave. Which day would he be drafted on?

He reminds of a better Chauncey-Garnder who played at UF and is on the Eagles now.

Horn nasty as well.

Haven’t peeped Jaycee as of yet. Had an opportunity last week but bro was hurt. Loved Jaycee; he comes from good stock, same as lil Pat.

As far as Tyrique goes, if imma be honest, I’m not in love w/ his game, but he’s a good DB. Don’t think he’s a CB at the next level b/c his technique would get are alive at the next level. You can’t ignore his frame + athleticism though.

Do you think we get another season from him?

That’s my question with him at the next level is where does he end up?

I’ve seen some “big corner” sorta safety-ish types start to creep into defenses with all of the massive WRs and offenses changing these days

I think Tyrique sticks there mostly because not a lot of guys are built like him and he can catch on as a bit of a niche player

But then again wouldn’t be shocked if he never makes a roster either just think the NFL takes guys like this and makes them valuable

Well, the only thing I would say is Michael Jackson has completely revived his career as a big corner, although Tyrique, physically, appears a tad bigger.

Seattle is notorious for utilizing big corners & knowing what to do w/ them. Hopefully he can land at a spot like that, & low key, I’ll take him on the Bears & have him on the opposite side of Johnson, & move our rookie, Gordon, to the slot/nickel position. Eberflus is a good defensive minded HC, as well, & we’re going through a youth rebuild.
