Short and sweet ( positive )

Too many fans are (understandingly) gun-shy when they are posed with this argument, but I agree, OP. There is definitely no award for simply playing tough, but it’s been a missing ingredient for a long time. Was definitely good to see.

We didn’t quit , fought the entire game. While having bad **** keep happening. Teams in the past would’ve rolled over and just said “ f it”.

That’s something culturally manny is focused on fixing.

So there’s that.
Facts. We got sh*t to fix For sure. We gave the game away due to too many mistakes ultimately but we stood toe to toe against and didn’t look overMatched anywhere on the field other than our oline blocking their front 7.

The only bad thing about the last part is UF is not a good team , they’ll win 7-8 games tops. Luckily our schedule sucks, so we can maybe make it to 9.

But neither team is good , we need way more talent and depth.

Agree with all your points. May change this last statement to experience and depth.

Now they need to learn to win. The Blades penalty and the chop block costed us 30 yards in field on the last series. Last year LSU punched us in the mouth and we folded like a cheap suit. We can back twice. Just need to learn to finish it.

I mean we got sacked like 1000 times with 15 penalties (some BS ones that helped the gators immensely) and muffed a punt in the red zone to go along with two dropped scores and STILL almost won. We pull that bs last year and get blown out. Progress

especially on the oline and apparently at receiver

I’ll be honest , the dl really let me down. No pressure or sacks from front four. Only blitzing was causing pressure. Garvin was non existent , Patchan is more run stopping , motor and hustle. Rousseau should’ve had a few tfl and a sack. Hill rarely played. Miller is non existent as pass rusher, same with Ford. I saw zero explosion or twitch from interior guys.

Hunte and blissett might be in sooner than later. Especially versus pass.

Who quits when we are only down 4 points at any given time during the game?

We didn't quit the first game of the year YAY for us.

I figured there’d be one *** that doesn’t get it.

We were in a danger zone early in the game , UF was driving multiple times and could’ve easily jumped up 21-3. While getting hit was a power shot early on that long td , while refs missed an awhile holding call. UF was driving the next two drives after that play , the team could’ve crumbled in such an emotional game.

Which has been common around here.

It’s borderline impossible to win with the penalty yardage, 10 sacks allowed and special teams play but all things considered I woke up today feeling like we should’ve won by 2 scores. That’s why it’s a tough pill to swallow. Onto UNC.

We were in the game from the very beginning so why would they quit? Stop speaking about could haves. We could have blocked for Jarren and scored 50 points.

Could Have? Or did ?

Cam Could have ran for a TD. JT4 could have caught the game winner in the end zone. The OL could have blocked. Enos could have called a good game. Baxa could have kicked a field goal rather than missing. JT4 could have caught the punt. I can go on all day with could haves.

I'll add to this since all everyone can do is complain:

1. We lack depth in the secondary, and for the most part, they did a **** good job. Looked like the best coached unit outside of Blades with the birds.

2. Jarren is accurate. Something we've been begging for. He moved well in the pocket at times. His flaws such as holding on the ball and footwork can be taught. Accuracy can not. No interceptions vs a supposedly vaunted secondary.

3. We actually punted the ******* ball longer than 40 yards on average. I expect it to just get better.

4. Kick coverage was actually decent. That has been lacking.

5. We got a decent pass rush when Trevon Hill or Greg was in the game. We need to use them more and Patchan less vs. pass heavy teams.

6. Run defense was very, very good.

7. Romeo Finley and Frierson looked good outside of friersons one play. Need some safety help there, though.

8. Rob Knowles played more than you think. No one noticed because he didn't **** up. go back and watch.

9. Enos sucked at times, but he managed the game for his QB. Looked like we held back to protect his confidence at times. OL didn't help. But Enos didn't help the OL either.

Now on the other side:

1. Enos needs to help his Oline and QB. Chips, Quick Plays, more stuff that looked like that first drive.

2. If you're going to have Martell back there; let him throw at least once to be honest

3. Delay of games and false starts. Gotta be fixed

4. Less 5 step drops with this oline. More quick hitters. If you're going to throw a quick hitter, fake it later in the game and go deep.

5. Looked like our goal was to keep contain on the QB. Something we were terrible at last year. It definitely hurt us in getting to the QB.

6. Lets move scaife to RT or LT. Figure something out inside. Maybe Reed?10. Lets move scaife to RT or LT. Figure something out inside. Maybe Reed?

7. Stupid penalties

Awful analysis here.

The DL completely stuffed the run. All 4 starters were ranked among our top 6 players last night by PFF - led by Patchan. Would've been nice to get a few more sacks but (1) their QB is good at avoiding sacks, (2) there weren't a ton of snaps in the game, and (3) their pressure led directly to the Finley pick, and influenced the other TOs.

Ironic . The DL was not causing any pressure , zero.

We got pressure half the time last year, yesterday majority the pressure we did get was franks holding on to the ball forever , because he only makes one read. Also the carter int was more franks missing a wide open guy , throwing late ( causing said pressure) . That was a 25-30 yard play if he doesn’t suck , it was a busted coverage, there was literally two guys wide open.

Every snap the DL ( 4 man rush )was at a stalemate. As I said dummy they played well against the run.

Our d is a dL friendly d that allows guys to shoot gaps and get upfield, which inflates the stats. Even with that scheme we got no pressure.

Franks literally stood there , then would just roll out after first read.

As I said “ Franks caused the little pressure we did get because he’s awful and doesn’t go through progressions.

Now go watch the actual replay and get back at me son.

You know nothing.
