Shemar Stewart

According to other people closer to this, he's not trying to get the injury protection placed into the contract. NFL rookie deals are all the same and the money is slotted.

An example is Roquan held out from Chicago because of the wording pertaining to Chicago being able to hold money back if he were suspended for an illegal hit.

He's trying to change the wording of it to suit Moe, I mean Shemar.
I saw a tweet that said percentage wise he would be getting less upfront than the 17th pick from last year. So I'm confused

The question begs, what is Cincy trying to do that is new? Shemar is openly asking for standardized contract verbiage.

It's as if they didn't really want to draft him and are scared of his guaranteed dollar slot.

Can you really blame Shemar?

This guy has Golson from OSU(Jets drafted)written all over him. He’s gonna suck. Wasted draft pick. How some of these GM’s or personnel staff keep their gigs is beyond me. I’d fire whoever birthed this idea immediately and then ask the guy who agreed to explain himself before firing him too. This is colossally stoopit.

Go Canes!

Can someone explain to me, in kindergarten terms, just why do we care about this guy?

We have quite a few folks on this forum who were the type in high school who didn't handle
relationship breakups well. We all knew that guy. The one who would drive by her house several
times a week to check her driveway and often cry whenever "their" song was played on the radio.

I guess what I don't understand is why does the NFL still not have a blanket contract for terms in regards to things like voiding guarantees, particularly for rookie contracts? I'm fine with creative incentive language and whatnot, but I feel this type of clause should be fairly standard and franchises like the Bengals shouldn't be allowed to try to sneak things like this in.

All that said, there is a reason the Bengals consistently rank towards the bottom of the league in these NFLPA player surveys.

These are people who never got back together with an ex. Then you see a breakup for the blessing it is.

As a Cane, I'm heartbroken we missed out on both those solo sacks of his college career. We really missed out.

The Bengals would have the worst owners in the NFL but for the Haslems in Cleveland. No surprise that neither organization has ever had sustained success. It is almost impossible to win consistently with bad owners. They always ***** things up.

James Dolan is working hard to prove my point with the Knicks.

Honestly, I think it is kinda messed up that there are rookie set terms. I understand why they did it - both teams and established players were upset that unproven players were coming in getting huge contracts and often busting <cough> Sam Bradford <cough> - but looking at the other side of it, it seems pretty unfair that players are collectively bargaining terms that hurt future players that are not able to be part of those conversations.
