Miami fans can all breathe.

It was scary when Shelton Henderson, Miami’s standout freshman guard, went down grabbing his knee in a way that me thinking from the couch, a potential ACL injury.

He was sent to the locker room and appeared to be in a lot of pain. At that moment, it didn’t look good at all.

It really did look scary when Shelton Henderson, Miami’s standout freshman guard, went down grabbing his knee in a way that me thinking from the couch, a potential ACL injury.

He was sent to the locker room and appeared to be in a lot of pain. At that moment, it didn’t look good at all.

After the game, head coach Jai Lucas provided an update as Miami prepares for Boston College Eagles men’s basketball tomorrow.

“He’s fine. It scared him more than it did anything. He just tweaked it a little bit, but nothing serious. Got all the stuff done. So he should be good,” Lucas said in his presser.

Henderson is averaging 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting nearly 60 percent from the field this season for the Hurricanes

What initially looked like a serious injury turned out to be nothing more than a minor tweak, and that’s the best news Miami could’ve asked for. especially with March coming up.
Good news for sure!

I'm sure the mental aspect is tough, when you're looking at a future NBA career.

Is Shelton Henderson expected to go pro after this season? I have not followed college basketball in a very long time so I wouldn't know. Hopefully he comes back next season. Has NIL had as significant of an impact on basketball as it has on football?

Before @Gables Canes comes in and unloads his estrogen, I believe there's a very slim chance of Henderson going pro barring him putting together otherwordly numbers over these next few weeks, coupled with us making a deep run.

This is one of the deepest drafts in a number of years, and ESPN released their Top 100 prospects for the draft 2 weeks ago and he wasn't included in it. That means he's not even on NBA team's radars right now.

In this age of college athletics, blue chip high school prospects aren't one and done to the G League/Europe. He'll stand to earn the most money staying in school another year playing into a higher draft slot - he's likely preseason All-ACC/top 30-45 player in CBB going into next year.

As long as Lucas is here next year, there is a high probability of Henderson being back.

Henderson would definitely benefit the team but also himself to come back another year. That's my opinion. He is a great talent but is still a little raw. I think he could come back next year.
