If by "recruited extremely well" you mean "lost almost every major South Florida target after 2013," then you're correct.
Al Golden recruited extremely well just could not coach or use the players correctly.
You started drinking early today!
I bash Golden all the time and personally can't stand him. But I am not going to clown his recruiting efforts. He was able to land some good NFL level talent.
The 2013 and 2014 teams were championship level teams and arguably slightly less talented than our 2002 squad
WTF!
Not saying he didn't land some good players, but I am of the opinion that you could have landed those players. (Duke Johnson, for example, those type of kids were coming) And bringing the others with them. Now, to say anything close to what you just said, you must be trying to ruffle feathers. 2002 team blew a chance at a natty. Didn't lose til 6 seconds after the final **** game! That last coach was a total failed experiment.
You realize that our entire starting offense form those years are in the NFL. Now add the defensive players that are in the NFL. Instead of losing I think we should have been debating where that team ranks against the greats.
Look at out Secondary
FS: Deon Bush - NFL
DB: Gunter -NFL
DB: Howard - NFL
DB: Burns - NFL
DB: C Elder - NFL bound
UM's entire secondary are in the NFL
It even gets worse when you look at the front 7
LB - A Thurston - NFL
LB - D Perryman - NFL
LB - Grace - NFL bound
LB - G Paul - NFL practice squad
DE - Chickillo - NFL
DE- Mccord - NFL
DE - AQM - NFL bound
DE - C Thomas - NFL bound
When you look at the bright side, Golden flat out loss recruiting battles and ignored really good players. Despite that we still fielded teams with tremendous talent. So in theory we could have been even more loaded. For the media who talks about our facilities does not have a clue. We were a coach away from having a conversation about how good the those teams were.

You actually make a compelling argument. But remove the players RS brought in, then consider the boatload that left him at the altar and finally look at what the high school coaches have said about AGs recruiting.
It's difficult not to end up w NFL talent here.
Crazy you say this about Redwine. Yeah he's definitely made some plays so far this season against lesser talent, but I also see a lot of room for improvement. Every game I see him playing 15 to 20 yards away from the receiver, I don't understand why they give such a cushion. Corn on the other hand is playing lights out and playing more press coverage. The only completions I've seen this year have been on Redwine. I'm sure as the season continues he'll gain more confidence and play closer to the line.
Exactly. The pass Redwine deflected for an interception was grossly underthrown, and Elder is just continuing to smother any receiver he's covering. Colbert should have his job back when he's healthy.

That ball was not "grossly" underthrown. it was behind the receiver but hey maybe at 35 my eyes don't work like they use to.

Drugs are bad my friend...
I wish it was drugs..lol Some don't realize how bad of a coach Al Golden was. We were arguably slightly less talented than our 2002 squad

With that much talent on defense it is beyond belief that we fielded such a poor defense. 95% of our defense those years are now starting NFL players or on a NFL team. Now image what would have been if Manny Diaz had that level of talent?
When you look at our 2013 offense, the entire starting offense is in the NFL. That is unheard of. Instead of losing we should have been debating were we ranked those teams amongst our greats
