Shavar Manuel - Do we have a shot at this beast?

So we've got a three star DT from Miss visiting today but we told Shavar Manuel "nah you can't visit cuz you wanna come during the week"

The retards of CIS know no bounds.

Manuel has no interest in UM and never reached out about taking a visit. And if he did reach out, and isn't visiting, it's because UM couldn't convince him to come to campus, not because we told him he couldn't take a midweek visit.

Your version seems much more likely than the alternative version.

This really isn't all that complicated. We are a complete longshot to get him. Him visiting FSU right after a mid-week visit here would basically make his visit here worthless for us. Most of our coaches are going to be out on the road recruiting throughout the week, and it might not result in a very good OV anyways. So it does make sense to try to get him to take his OV on the 29th here instead of FSU. It's not like he's committed to FSU. We're basically making him decide right now which of the 2 FL schools are most likely to get him to flip from his UF commitment. If he picks to keep his OV to FSU, we never had a shot anyway. If he chooses to switch his OV to us, then we might actually have a shot....Either that or he's smart and would rather take a free trip to Miami than Tallahassee, which is a smart decision.

You're right, it's not complicated. That's why your novel about why UM would turn down a visit from an elite player from Tampa is pointless and useless.

Vern didn't know anything. You guys are really not astute whatsoever and will believe anything you read.

Yeah, programs desperate for DT's regularly tell elite prospects who live four hours away that they can't visit because they want to come during the week instead of the weekend. I'm sure that happens all the time.

Vern, does Manual even realize who our new DL coach is? He's been to fsu many times, never came here but maybe once when Gorldren was HC, and that just cuz he was in the area IIRC.

You put the word "regularly" in your post in an attempt to show that you are not wrong here. Its not working. No one is saying this is a common thing. What seems like common sense to those of us who follow this stuff REGULARLY ( ) is that this kid's desire for a visit does not warrant the staff going the extra mile to land him. He's a UF commit who is looking to engage in a little bit of pre-buyer's remorse at the 11th hour. If he's considering us versus UF, then he'd cancel his weekend trip to FSU, otherwise the most accurate assumption is that we are a distant 3rd to both uf and FSU. Given that, I have no problem with the staff making the minor power play of saying that he should cancel his FSU trip if he's truly considering UM.

Again, if this was late December the whole situation would be played differently by the staff. Given that its the final week of recruiting season, I think CMR and staff are playing correctly in pushing the kid for the weekend visit.

You are clueless as usual. We just had some three star kid from Mississippi come on a weekday visit but we told Shavar Manuel no thanks? How dumb do you have to be to believe this stuff?
